Some One Asked

Today turned into a beautiful day. It started out cloudy and damp as it had rained pretty good during the night. But we took a few walks in between resting up and emptying the dishwasher.
I worked on the latest blanket I am making to. Last week one I my readers asked to see some of the things I have been making so I figured today was a good time to take pictures since I have to drop off some of the things next week.

The blankets are gifts I worked on over the summer and I had some lap robes that have already been taken to the VA, and quite a few chemo hats went to the Cancer Center.  Those curly things are scarfs and the hats to match. There are just hats also

This is going to be a blanket that I am now working on  these are all the colors that are in it and now I will just continue working them in until finished. As you can see I have a long way to go.
I really love doing this and it keeps my hands busy.

I hope everyone is well rested after yesterday.
I don't know how many of you may have hit the stores but I sure wasn't one of them. But tomorrow I will go to Michael's as I need more yarn, the colors I need of course were not in all the yarn I bought off my friend.

Until tomorrow have a wonderful evening and a good morning.

  1. Very nice things you are making to donate. I have never learned how to knit or crochet.

  2. I'm still working on the rested part, but that's kind of a permanent condition. As the son of a life long knitter I appreciate the efforts that go into what you are contributing. You are to be admired and congratulated.

  3. Hello Teri,
Like I said it keeps my hands busy. I crocheted many, many years ago and then just quit. When I quit smoking I needed to do something, my nieghbor talked me into joining our neighborhood crochet class at the club house. Lois gave me some needles and yarn and I was off and running. I love that class its fun and to see all the beautiful things that are made by others. And most of it is donated our sold and the proceeds go to charity.
    Thanks for coming by.

    Hi John,
Resting is the good part of life isn't it. I appreciate your comment but I just like doing this stuff with the rest of the class. It keeps us out of trouble LOL
    Thanks for stopping by.

  7. Thanks for posting these photos, JoJo. You do some really neat work! I totally love that off-white scarf :) The hats are so pretty also, and I bet those blankets/laprobes are warm! I need to do an afghan but right now I am so into socks, its like when I finish one pair I just have to start another. I do need to get onto Izzy's sweater though....

  9. Hi Happy,
I can do simple patterns, but nothing fancy like sweaters, and we learned how to make mittens. Well the others learned I gave mine to my daughters and we all still laugh about it every year near Christmas. They were the ones you use for showers or your bath. I'm lucky I could make the beanies. LOL

    Thanks for coming by today.

    Hello Jim,
    Thanks for the compliments.

I'm always so happy to see you stop by.

    Hi Judy and Emma,
I still have so much left to do. I just came back from Michael's to get more yarn.

    Thanks for stopping by today.
Can't wait to see what wonderful pictures you will post today.

    Hi Sunny,
I love those socks your are making but thats knitting and to many needles for me. LOL But I understand how it is. Once you learn something new it's hard to move on to something else.

Like I said above I just went to Michael's (its a craft store) and I may go back later they are having 50% off after 12n. After that my sis said lets stop at Target if there arent' lots of cars. We were shocked at how empty the store was. I asked the sales girl if they were very busy yesterday and she said pretty much. Then she said the sales today are the same and look nobody is here. I was happy about that I grabbed my milk and bread and left.

Thanks for coming by today Sunny and now I feel like I should be cleaning something out. LOL

  10. I used to crochet too, but quit. LOVE your things.
I found a web site for making worms for book markers, made a few a couple of years ago. I also love my pot holders.

  11. your stash is amazing! I've always been a slow knitter/crochetter and marvel at how much others get to fly off their needles. I LOVE your recent blankee. Such pretty colors.

  12. Being left handed, no one in my family ever had the patience to teach me to knit. I did have a great-aunt years ago who taught me to hairpin lace crochet. Been so long ago that I forget anything I learned way back then.

    You sure have been busy.

  13. Oh neat fun things! You've been Miss Busy fingers! I like the cream hat with the scarf
:0) I need to get back to my crochet projects. Tonight would be a good night since it's chilly.
Thanks for sharing your goods & it warms my heart that some of these items are for such good causes!

  14. Hey Trouble,
Ineed to learn how to make pot holders.
    Thanks for coming by.

    Hi and Welcome Winerly,
I don't go out at night unless someone else drives. So I crochet and some times I do some during the if nothing is going on.

Thanks for your complements and for coming by for a read.

    Hi Phyllis,
My friend is left handed and when she tries to teach me a new stitch I have tried to sit in front of her, but once she hands over the piece to me its still backward for me. LOL But I have never done hairpin lace. I bet if you can do that you can do the simple stuff I do.

Thanks you for come by today.

    Hello TexCyn,
I start working on these things in the summer up at the mountains since the nights are alway cool or chilly. And once it gets dark up there its best to stay indoors or at least for me it is. I can just see me running into a shunk or some other critter. Hope next summer to be able to spend more time on my porch after dark if I can find a nice comfy chair to sit in .
As for the donating it is a way for me to give back.

    Glad you stopped by today.
