A Little of This and a Little of That

I headed out to Michael's this morning to pick up more yarn. I want to finish a few more
afghans for the Christmas Adopt a Family. I am making some progress but not a lot. I
sat on the porch and jumped up and down doing things around the porch and yard.

I cleaned the little fountain and got it running. Still trying to figure out how to keep the
afternoon sun off. I had tried things in the past that just didn't work out very well. I know
the only thing that will work is to have someone come and frame out a screen. I also
need to repaint the railings and the floor. A contractor told me to paint the floor with
roof coating and then put down a rug. The roof coating will fill in the floor cracks and
help to protect it from the rain and sun. I will look into that this week. The wood isn't
looking very good since I pulled up the old rotten carpet. I did paint it once but it needs
it again.

But I love sitting out there and listening to the fountain spilling the water over the edge.

I have put off looking for a van until I sell the trailer in the mountains. There is just to
much to do on the house right now to spend the extra money.

Hope you are enjoying the weekend.

Good Night All

  1. Your mind is going a mile a minute with all the projects you're cooking up. It's making me tired just reading about all you planned.

  2. Isn't it funny that when we finally sit down to rest, we see all the things we "should" be doing?

  3. Good morning John,

I see all these things that need to be done before they lead to bigger things. Its just time.

  4. I think you making afghans for the families that need them is commendable..I don't know how you have all that strength, I have volunteered for over 25 years and I am about to retire, retired from federal then went back to work for my health insurance and a tiny pay, non-profit, now I am ready to join my hubbs to have a little fun and travel, we don't get much from our pensions and ssocial security.cobra on my hubby's pension would have been over $1,000 amonth so I went to work for my 2nd grade gal friend who runs a nonprofit we are the only ones who get health insurance what does that tell you about the state of health insurance and health care in our great country. Love your blog, get a real kick out of your musings your grandbaby the tornado sure is a cuttee pie...happy holidays, to me holidays are everyday when you can help to feed people who work in excess of 60 hours a week pay their bills and still come up short for food just for themselves they do fees their wives, husbands and children first?! Wow whee!

  5. Meant to say they feed their wives/husbands, moms and dads just end up short for themselves to work those many hours, they never complain about what I cook, bake, roast, they know myname and my hubbs too. we spend money to get books for the tiny ones, and much needed lingerie for the wives and hubby's it is shameful that the presidential election cost billions of dollars but many starve inthis great nation! Happy Happy anywhooooo!

  6. Hi Anon,
While I appreciate you commenting I do not talk politics or religion. Life is tough but we have to make the best of what we have. Health care is an issue but this is the Best Country in my book.
Thank you for stopping by, come again.

  7. I love the sound the water fountains make, too.

I think you are smart to wait for the van until you sell the trailer, but the waiting is hard, isn't it? :)
