Days Are Growing Shorter

It was a pleasant day today, well at least better than it has been.

Took Fred to the groomers this morning. It never seems to stop amazing me how dogs know where they are going before you get there. I was early so I figured I'd take a short drive down the road to see what changes they have made now to the desert. He started to whimper as we got to the block I usually turn down for the groomer, but when I kept going he stopped and relaxed. I turned around as I didn't see much and a road that I turned on was no longer a road. That happens in the desert sometimes.  But as soon as I was getting close to the turn he started a low whimper. As I turned onto the road he started to whine. I talked to him in a happy voice and he just looked at me like he was going to his death. I had the groomer take him out the passenger side this time so he couldn't try to climb behind me. He goes with her but not very willing.  As I turned around in her yard I could her him really having a fit, so I drove off as fast as I could. Poor thing.

I always stop at the Family Dollar store around the corner so as not to drive all the way home and buy him a treat of some kind. He was done pretty fast and I picked him up. He was so happy to see me or was it the bag on the floor of the truck. hahha.

I brought him in the house and gave him his treat, and let him go out on the porch while I washed his bedding. He loves his porch.

I had to bring him in so I could run to the bank and to the office here. By then it was really hot so my day of adventure was over.

Good Night All

  1. Furby was the same way.... I tried different groomers, but no matter who did it, he hated it. It really does get to you tho...

  2. Fred is so good about knowing where he's going maybe you could teach him to read a map and use him for a GPS.

  4. Hi Karen,

I took him to a few different ones too and it didn't matter. So I stick with this one she takes good care of him. Yes to see that sad face

    Good morning John,

If he wasn't so short maybe I could teach him to drive. And just say Mountains and off he would go.

    Hello JMD,

    I think so too.

  5. Now, Ms. Jo, I would NOT like a groomer, either. Fred is handsome enough and so am I that we don't need our "hair done". I wish I could give Fred some of the sweet potato chips that Nancy makes for me as treats. - Jack

  6. Well Hello Jack my good man,

Fred needed to get a bath and his nails clipped so he won't be slip sliding across the floor. LOL Maybe Nancy will share her recipe with us. :)

  7. I'm noticing how the sun is up later in the morning, and goes down earlier in the evening. I really enjoyed the long days but will take "cool" over anything else!

    1. Hello Gypsy,

Yes I would like to be cool now. The bad part about short days is going camping and the day ends way to soon. That's whats going to happen to me I'm sure.

    1. Hi Sondra,

I can't get on my knee's to bath him and he smelled pretty dirty, he has black nails so cutting them is out of the question.

    1. Hi Carolyn,

No doesn't but I sure don't like the smell of a dirty dog and after he has been bathed he comes to life and runs all over the house, long nails are not healthy for a dog.
Love my Fred so he gets the best.
