Disapiontment Today

Took the truck in today for and oil change and was talking to the guy about a battery. He said we can do that here. So he gave me a quote he thought it would be and I left. I called at 4:30 to see if they truck was done and he said yes and why didn't I call him back this morning? They called me around 10:30 with the price and left a message. I had no message on my phone and no missed call. It's a good thing they didn't do the job as it came in around 1,000. I sure am not going to spend that kind of money to get a battery for the camper. Going to check out something else I saw on another blog it sure would be a lot cheaper.

The temps today where high but the humidity was really low so it wasn't to bad. Fred and I went out a few time to walk around the yard but stayed in the shade.

I also just about completed a scarf to match a beanie I made.

Put up some Cheesy Chicken today in the crock pot. Added some diced green chili, carrots, potato, mushroom, onion, garlic and herbs. The made some rice and added it to the serving size bowls to be frozen.

Good Night All

  1. Yikes, that sounds crazy high. Good grief, there must be a way to get the job done more reasonable than that.

It has been so long since I ironed anything that when I got the ironing board out the cat came running to see what it was. Ooops! Obviously I don't iron often.

  2. I agree the price sound very high. Surely you can do better somewhere else.

  4. Hi JMD,

Yes that is crazy. I never dreamed it would cost so much. going to send a friend of mine something I saw on Amazon and see if he can fill me in on how it works. I have no mind for the stuff.

Funny about the ironing haha I don't do it either.

    Hi Gypsy,

Going to keep looking for something that won't make me broke or cause me to give up camping.

    Hi Sondra,

I will look into the charger. But not sure it will work with more than Christmas lights I need to be able to run a heater and charge the laptop maybe even the camera, thx for the link.

  5. Wow! What kind of battery are they trying to sell? Sounds expensive enough to run a rocket to the moon and back!

  6. I can't imagine what kind of battery setup they were trying to sock you with! Hope you find someone else who will do it at a decent price.

  7. HI Nancy and Sharon,

This set up would be something like what you have in your Travel Trailers, It would give me electric to the camper. But at that price I'll just buy a camper of some kind.

    1. It requires wiring from the truck battery to the back of the camper and an converter plus the sockets and venting.
