Another Cold Night

Last night and early this morning it was down right cold again. So on went the sweats and my heavy jacket and out with Fred. He sure didn't waste anytime and ran for the computer room, didn't even wait for his morning treat. But the sound of the jar got him running back and in a very big hurry to grab it and run back. I was getting my coffee and he kept coming out to look at me, to see why I was taking so long to get there and turn on the heater. I had turned on the bathroom one when I brushed my teeth and closed the door.

So I sat here for quite some time drinking nice hot coffee until I figured the bathroom was good and warm. Then jumped in the shower.

Made a hasty retreat to the computer room to make sure I was good and dried out before leaving the house.

Picked up Rose and off we went to Michael's so I could get the yarn to make the team hats for the boys for Christmas. Of course when I got home and checked the list I found I forgot orange. grrr I have so much yarn and not any of the colors I needed. Want to finish the hats so I can make a few afghans for the homeless and get them delivered.

We then ran to Anna's Linens as I was looking for a comforter for my bed nothing special but warm. Nothing under $50. not going there.

We went to lunch at Chili's which was more than either of us could eat so we took half home.

Since Walmart was right there we stopped in there next. I did find something but it was still $45. as we walked around the next isle we spotted some down on the bottom shelf for $24. so I grabbed one and a pair of jeans and off we went for home.

I put the flannel sheets on the bed and added the comforter to the rest of the blankets so I know I will be warm tonight.

Darrell called me this evening back from his hunting trip and said he will be here between 7-7:30 am tomorrow. YIPPEE!

Good Night All

  1. Once you get the furnace turned on things will probably warm up...Morphy's law,

  2. I have one small heater and carry it around the house to be wherever I am. I also warm up the bathroom with it before I take a shower. So far I've avoided turning on the house heater - the gas and electric bills would kill me!

  3. I spend a lot of time going back to stores to get what I forgot. Apparently lists aren't working the best for me.

I hope this super cold is about done, if it isn't, I know I am!

  4. Good morning John,

Yup that's what I'm thinking too.

    Hi Gypsy,

We were 2 degrees warmer last night. I don't use the heater except in the morning to take the chill out. The electric heaters don't work in large areas. I run the small one in the bathroom in the morning and spend as much time as afforded in the computer room with the other electric fire place. My electric bill was enough of a killer over the summer don't need it or the gas bill to kill me all winter.

    Hi JMD,

I understand about the lists, what's worse is when you leave them home. It should warm up for a few days then... well then it will be cold again.

  5. Our bathroom is the warmest room in the rig. Enough already, tired of this cold.

  6. Oh no, we only made it to 62! I did the only decent thing I could think of and baked a white blueberry cake with a lemon glaze on it. Seemed to warm me up pretty good!!! :-D

  7. Hi Phyllis,

My sister is in PA right now and is not happy about the cold there.

    Hi JMD,

We hit 72 it was really nice and I was able to open the widows and doors. Pretty crazy weather.
Your way of taking off the chill sounds pretty yummy to me.
