Rain

About 2 am I woke up to hard rain on the awning. It put me back to sleep as it slowed down. when I got up at 6 it was still raining a little. wasn't sure if Fred would go out or not he isn't big on water. But I guess if you have to go bad enough you go and go fast.

I enjoyed my coffee listening to the rain. Some times it poured down and others it was just a nice easy drizzle.

I stripped down the bed and got the bedding washed and put back on. Did lots of crocheting but didn't make much progress for some reason. Washed the kitchen floor and filled a bag of hats and scarves to take over to the donate center. Also have other items to donate to Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

As I was watering the house plants today I was amazed and the Christmas cactus. It is so full of flowers it has weighted it self down

The rain has stopped and it should be sunny again tomorrow.

Good Night All

  1. A neighbor last year gave me a baby Christmas cactus, it just sits and grows. How do I get the flowers on mine? Yours is a keeper.

It did rain here all day also. Went to the post office and mailed our one and only gift and our Christmas cards and headed home. Cold, wet and not that much fun.

    1. Hi JMD,

This was given to me many years ago. And only transplanted it last year. But I keep it in the same south window all the time. They don't require lots of
water but I give it more when it blooms but only if it seems dry.

I never left my house yesterday just fiddled around inside. Still very wet out there, but the sun is shining and is going to warm up to the low 70's should dry up.

  2. That plant needs to toughen up. So nice of you to donate. I've found more joy in giving that receiving as I age.

    1. Good Morning John,

It sure beats throwing good items away when there are people who can't afford to buy. And we have so many homeless here winters can get cold and they need warm hats and blankets. I feel the same way rather give than receive.

  3. The Christmas cactus is beautiful. My mother-in-law used to grow them in red, white and pink along with all kinds of exotic plants. She could make anything bloom. So seeing yours was a sweet reminder of her. :).

    1. Hi Gypsy,

Your state really needs that rain as we did over the summer. But day after day can be miserable.

    1. Hi Sondra,

Yes the rain was very good for us as always. Sorry about your cactus naught squirrels. I keep mine in my house. My friend put hers out and it didn't care for it at all. This time of year they are everywhere. I would have more but since I want to travel more no point.
