Wonderful Valentine Day

Tracy, came and brought me a pretty bouquet of flowers I put them in a container and off we went.

We stopped in Green Valley at the American Family Restaurant for breakfast. For some reason the kitchen was really behind in service so we had quite a wait but it was worth the wait food was fantastic as always.

Then we headed up the mountain to Madera Canyon. The day was overcast but it was cool and enjoyable.
Tracy had never been there so I showed her the campground which was full and we looked for some deer but found none. Next stop was the Santa Rita Lodge and Gift Shop where they have a bird feeding station. I thought there would be lots of birds do to migration but there weren't many new birds just the usual. At first not even the turkeys were there but then they showed up. We moved on to the bridge to check out the stream. Still lots of water was flowing and we took lots of pictures and videos there. Then we headed to the end of the road and encountered road  work, the road is very narrow there and it was made even more so by the construction. Looks like they are going to put in a new bridge over the creek. To our surprise there were more people up on that end than below. We couldn't even find a parking space and with all those people we didn't mind and went back down.  We then stopped at what was my Dad's very favorite picnic table and we took some pics there also. As you will see it really started to over cast even more and the temperature was dropping more. So we ended our trip but we had such a great day together

We had some great laughs and I was so happy for her to have a wonderful day.
This was the only bird I captured today
Snow at the very top of the mountain I'm not sure but this maybe Mount Baldy

Some how I lost the picture of my flowers and now it won't let me back in. tomorrow I'll try again

  1. Glad you had such a nice day. I like Fred Flintstone's chair, tho it doesn't look all that comfortable.

  5. Looks like you had a good day up there! Usually try to avoid weekends in the area. Definately a ton of birds migrating through right now.

  6. Hi Ryan,

It wasn't very crowded on the lower half which surprised me. No one was at the first group table only a few folks at the small tables. camp ground was full not one space left. Hardly any birds except for the sparrows and finches. But a great day was had. Since my daughter works weekends are her only time or Monday but other plans for that day
