Another Week Gone

I finally found a rug for the bathroom at Family Dollar. I also picked up 2 hand towels and one bath towel. The rug worked out great the towels not so much. I washed them and OH MY I'm surprised there was any towel left what a mess. So before they need washing again I need to go buy some better ones and pitch these.

Then it was back to cleaning the house and getting more things together for donation or selling.

I had gotten a text from a friend in Wisconsin that she was coming for  only 3 days to go wedding dress shopping with her mom who is here for the winter. On the day of her arrival she sent me a text of her and her Grandmother who is my dearest friend and I haven't seen in 2 years. Since it was such a short trip we didn't get to spend much time together but what little time we did have was a true treasure to me. When they got home on Sat. they were in the throws of some really awful and cold weather. We text each other and Kathy said it isn't to bad, it's only 70 degrees colder than Tucson. I hope that maybe next winter Kathy can come again and stay longer.

On Thur. my daughter Debbie stopped by with our little one Miliany we had lunch and Debbie did some laundry. We had a wonderful visit and much entertainment from Miliany. She had a nasty fall at the coffee table and I don't think I moved that fast in years. But she was fine and the crying was over spilling something on her dress. As soon as she was cleaned up she was fine. I have been wanting to get rid of that table for quite some time.

That night my grandson Eric called and asked if I really wanted to get rid of the table. I said yes I do. He offered to pay for it but I said nope just take it. The table has a huge storage space and of course it had lots of stuff in it. So I boxed it all up and figured I would have him put it outside for me. Well he asked what was in it and I said look. He is setting up a place of his own and doesn't have much stuff yet. Well he took that box and another one that was in my room. My dad painted gorgeous pictures so I told him to pick out what he wanted and he took 2 I know he wanted another one but felt bad about taking it. So I put his name on the back so everyone will know it is his later on. I'm so happy to get this stuff gone and that it will help him start setting up. But there is still so much stuff to get rid of.

Oh and I sold 2 pieces to my friend, they did want one of the pictures that Eric took but family first and I' m happy it stayed in the family.

Good Night All

  1. Visiting with friends and family is always fun, So nice that you can help out your grandson get set up as well.

  2. Hi George,

Yes visiting with friends and family is always a delight. And if I can help in anyway I will do my best.

  3. Little ones cry less when you don't fuss about their falls. It builds a stronger character.
The best part of giving it to family is that they will treasure it more then a stranger. Glad you could help him out and have time to visit with your friend.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  4. How wonderful that you got to visit with your friend! Even though it was a short visit, any time spent with friends, is always treasured. I need to start working on paring things down around this place, so I think I'll get busy taking pics and post them of several fb yard sale sites. I do enjoy having a yard-sale here at the house, but that will have to wait for warmer weather, I'm afraid! You've inspired me!

  5. First of all, I think your header photo is absolutely, stunningly, gorgeous, with its contrast of dark and light.

My youngest son knocked out a tooth on a coffee table on his first birthday! Exactly one year later to the day, he knocked out the second one falling outside on the steps. He looked like an older kid who lost a couple of baby teeth, but turned out to have beautiful permanent teeth and never needed any braces or the like! Coffee tables can be so difficult for the little ones to maneuver around.

  6. Hi Rick and Kathy,

I used to be so calm when I was younger but now it's hard to stay calm. I'm just thankful she didn't get hurt and her only problem was spilling something on her dress.
Im so happy the table is gone and my grandson loves it and loves having the paintings his great grandfather made.

    Hi Tatersmama,

I have missed my friend so much and yes even the short visit was such a pleasure. Yes paring down has been going on for quite some time and there is still so much more to go. The really expensive items will go on Market place. The rest will go to donation center. Happy to have helped you.

    Hi Gypsy,
Thank you I am getting ready to go camping in the very near future so I can get back into my photography this hanging out at home all the time is getting me nowhere. That picture was taken in Northern AZ.

Well the table is gone and I'm am so happy going to look for a kids table for them to play on.

  7. Agree keeping it in the family is the best idea!
Well even a short visit can bring many awesome memories to mind! I am ready to do some spring cleaning soon as spring arrives!

  8. Hi Sondra,

    I think so too.
It was a nice visit even if it was short. This cleaning is way over due and next week I want to get the carpets clean I finally cleaned up the shampooer today so I can get the shampoo next week.

  9. I am glad your grandson got the table and the picture his great grandfather painted. It was nice of you to also reserve the second picture he wanted for him to have in the future.

I often ask myself how I accumulated so much "stuff"...I am glad I am in good company.

  10. Hi MsBelinda,

Yes he was so happy to receive these things and it helps me get rid of stuff.

I know how I get so much stuff it was I need that and oh isn't that pretty and OH NO look at all this stuff!

  11. Hi Tanz,
