We hit 100 F yesterday and I am NOT HAPPY!
I finally got around to planting my herbs that my daughter gifted me for Mothers Day. Some sprouted really fast some nothing yet. The directions were so tiny I could barely read them and at the bottom it said some garderners put the lavender seeds in the fridge or about a week, why not put that on top not the very bottom. So they may take a bit of time to come up.
I finally was able to clean up some of the porch today and plant my Mothers Day flowers from another daughter. Want to wash down the furniture tomorrow so I can sit out in the mornings and have my coffee. Going to try putting the hummer feeder back out also. Had to take it down because of the Gila woodpeckers. They would drain the feeder in no time and the hummers stopped coming. Hope they return and not that annoying pecker.

It was a little cooler here in Kingman in the 90s. But still hot. Looks like a cool down with the wind bring a cold front. Your flowers and herbs are amazing.

It will be wonderful for the lower temps for a while longer. Kingman has so much history, didn't get to spend much time there. Enjoy your stay

Excellent glad most of your seeds came up I also had Lavender not come up it may be harder to grow than we think. I had some success with some of my seeds like lettuce, and spinach and my beets did not come up,,,so it's hit or miss but always fun to try. Hope it cools back down thats way too hot

ReplyDeleteI know I answered these comments guess blogger was having some issues. Since my last post more things are popping up, sunflowers need a much bigger pot as lots seeds germinated, basil is doing well and few others but still no lavender and don't much care about the celatro and a few others I am keeping them covered with plastic. Hope your veggies are doing well.

It has cooled down here again but the wind is back with a vengeance. I don't have much of a green finger and we shall see how long these plants last. haha.

Thanks I hope they live long enought to be used. Haven't been able to finish the porch as the winds are really bad again.
I just love to see the first little shoots of a plant coming up. I gave my daughter-in-law about 8 little tomato plants that I started, and I have 8 more in my planter. They are looking good and I hope they transplant well if and when we ever move!

ReplyDeleteI should do an update as some have really grown and I transplanted the sunflowers as they out grew that tiny pot in a matter of days.
When we defrosted our first electric refrigerator, my mother had us take all the ice and frost out and throw it on the ground around the lavender bush. I guess this was mainly in the spring.Phil
