Does anyone know anything about Dick from Dizzy's Wanderings &Wonderings?
Nothing much happing around here. Same old, same old.
But on Wed. I did have some company over. My daughter Debbie and her son Adam with his girl friend. I hadn't seen the kids for quite some time. Adam is living in TX right now working for a few months. He loves his basket ball and always wanted to go pro. He was supposed to go into a try out in April and since the Covid19 hit it was all canceled. Well he heard about another chance on a world team try out for next month and he made the first part of the try outs. We are very excited about this and he is over the moon happy.
Can the weather forcast be true? By next Wed we are going to drop into the low - mid 90's. I sure hope this happens I have had enough of this heat as I'm sure so has everyone else.
Going to start getting estimates to get my house worked on next week. And have my brakes checked on the truck also. Time to get these things done. Because if the weather is finally going to change I want out of here.

I was just looking at your weather. In the 90s for hughs and 70scfor lows. That is wonderful. Now ours is just crazy. Today is going to be 103 (definitely a new record) and then drop to 51 for a high on Monday. Over 60 degree difference. I'm going to freeze. And wind today to bring through the cold front with 11% humidity. Sure not going to help with the five fires we have around here.
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, glad your weather is about to cool Im hoping the same for mine as it still sticky and too hot...so I guess next week the schools here will resume and then I may drive to the beach for a day of birding..that will be fun. MY brakes are in horrid shape, I took in and had checked by one guy he said they're fine, but trust me they are not.

ReplyDeleteIf you haven't been doing a lot of driving lately there will be corrosion on the Rotors that should disappear after driving a couple hundred feet.
With less Flights and Cruises thanks to the pandemic the world is cooling down from it's warming state.

I hope the schools open in your area so you can enjoy more out door time in your favorite places. Most kids are being home schooled here if the parents keep a check on them. I just wonder who is going to pay for all the laptops they have handed out? Like I don't already know TAXES! Yes we know our brakes well if they don't feel right then they aren't. Thank you for wishing the best for Adam he is excited, I think that kid sleeps with his basketball lOL

ReplyDeleteGreat early news for Adam. Keeping fingers crossed and thinking positivee. Our daily temps are in the upper 90's and low 100's but Wed our high is only suppose to be in the mid-60's. Big cold front coming down from Canada. Still working on little truck camping projects - now it is "bathroom" items. Going out to the Lake next week to try my bed out - can't stay overnight yet in our state parks - so will be a nap. You have a safe weekend too.

Thank You for keeping your fingers crossed for Adam and yes positive thought for him. I can't wait for the temps to drop enough for a camping trip. Guess I will have to strip down the bed since it's been sitting for such a long time, must be full of dust LOL Hope the bed works out for you. I can't wait to try out all my collapsible camping gear I bought last year and neve was able to use.
My best to Adam may his dreams of playing basketball become a reality. Glad you were able to visit with your daughter, Adam, and his girlfriend.

ReplyDeleteThank You we are all cheering him on. He is very good and has been playing since he was old enough to hold a ball. He played for the City for a few years but it's always about lack of funds.
I am only getting estamits right now. The guy that used to do work for me is just not working or something. Don't know what happened with him he is still around but I don't see that he is doing any work.
Dick had a blog and nothing has been posted since Feb.1. I didn't know he had a facebook.
