I have canceled Christmas Eve and Christmas Day here. Corona19 is very bad and we had one family member infected but thank heavens she is doing well. Another one found out a coworker had it and they had been working and riding together for a week. So far he has tested negative but was told to re test next week to be sure. You can take all the precaustions you want but someone will always be careless around you and in a closed vehicle your to close for sure.
So all the food I bought to make the meals will be sent home with my daughter and she can cook for her family. She will call me when she is on her way and I will put everything outside including the gifts. My other daughter will pick up their gifts on Sunday the same way and mine will be left out there.
I'm not bothered by being on my own I live this way and so it is just another day. I will make myself a small lassanga meal as I have plenty of makings for it and I may even make a loaf of Italian bread. If I feel like it that is.
I baked up some cookies over the past few days, some found their way to the trash LOL but it kept me busy while I waited to hear how everyone was doing.
I just can't for the life of me understand how some people just don't get it about this virus and how bad it is. They say this spike is caused by folks who just had to travel for Thanksgiving (which was predicted) and now they are still going to travel for Christmas. At this rate these fools are going to keep this virus going for a lot longer.

My friend in VA just died yesterday from this damn virus. And his wife has it but is recovering. Makes for a sad time in so many ways. So Jim and I are still isolating. Just us tomorrow. Which is perfect for me. I'm glad to hear you are taking precautions and staying healthy.

I hear you, it's very difficult as long as people keep moving around and tangling up with each other it will continue. I Hope you at least zoom or something to be in touch with your family. I hope next year to be traveling at Christmas, that would be fine by me.

No zooming haha they can take pictures and post them and I will enjoy seeing them opening their gifts that way and I'm sure there will be lots of phone contact. Yes lets hope for next year we can travel freely to our hearts content. I liked you idea that you posted about a good movie and a fire. Maybe if I can get my KOBO reader set up and can down load a good book or 2 and put the DVD on of the nice crackling fire.

Been doing that a number of years when daughter couldn't make it down from Kansas. Now it is just the 3 of us. It is hurting when the news comes on about the covid stats in the State, I think of so, so, so many who are not even getting to do as you and I.

The NNDept of Health put out an online pre-signup to be notified of when one is eligible to get the vaccine and to make an appt with local hospital. I am glad you will be at home and staying safe. So many people are not and this is just so unfair to our nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals who are working so hard to treat Covid patients putting themselves and their families at peril.

The virus is spiking so bad here and a few of my family members have it now and caught on their jobs.
some have tested positive some negative but so far they are doing as well as can be expected. the ones that posted negative were told to go back in a week for retesting. So gifts were left outside and some where left for me. EVeryone is now doing this at each house. Its like a game knock and run LOL They call each other when they arrive to let them know the gifts will be at the door in a few minutes then they drop them off and knock and leave. This give the person time to put their gifts out for the person who is delivering. Lysol and hand sanitizer is kept at hand in the cars or carried to the door to spray the packages.
It's sad to live this way because some people are just plain stupid.
I haven't been to a family Christmas gathering for several years (mainly because the family has dwindled so much). But I do share Christmas with my remaining family and friends via the world wide web. It seems Covid can be random. I know a family where one got it and no one else in the household got it. I guess there are no guarantees but I'm glad you played it safe.
