Just a little to close

Not a good picture but this is hail. The day started out pretty nice but it didn't last long.
There was a very loud crack and the sky lit up real bright. HMmm that seemed close. Well it was. Fred and I were returning from a walk when it stopped raining and ran into some people from across the street and they showed me some burned bark. Larry said when they found it it was still smoldering. So I ran and got the camera and drove around the corner and this is what I found.( I could have walked but was in a hurry)

Not what I expected to see, It looked as though something had carved it open. I thought it would be burned.

The temperature dropped down to the 60s pretty quick and I can't tell you what they are because the the good old weather channel is still showing 83 and I don't think it ever reached that high today.
Have a great day.

  1. That had to be a scary experience. I don't like lightning at all and that would have been too close for me. Glad no one was hurt.

  2. Hi Granny, I know that was really to close. The thunder that followed rocked the house.
Hope you have a wonderful day.

  3. I will never forget the time in Ruidoso, New Mexico when lightening struck within 15 feet of us. It was scary and incredible.
