Garden and Birds

Sorry I didn't blog last night just wasn't in the
mood and didn't have anything to say. Not much
anyway.

I did get my fishing license yesterday and went
driving around but didn't take any pictures.

Today I went grocery shopping and stopped a Lowe's
to look at porch furniture. I found a really nice set but I am not sure I want to spend the money. And
I will need a truck to pick it up. I also wanted to buy
a tomato plant. I picked that up and headed home.
I keep looking at the plant and it looked more like
a pepper leaf. I finally got around to planting and doing othere things. I pulled out the little plastic thing and yes it was a sweet red pepper. I guess when I saw the little red pepper I thought it was a cherry tomato. DAH  So tomorrow I will go back
and buy a tomato plant.

I also stopped at the trailer place as I spotted the
little Tear Drop Trailer again. But the guy wasn't
there and since I was on my way to Wally World I
couldn't stop again.  Maybe they will be open
tomorrow, if not I will go and check on it Monday.

The Irises grow between my space and the next one. They aren't into gardening so they told be enjoy the space. I do.

The butterfly dish was a gift from Kathy on my birthday it fits there really nice

Brought out the bird bath and scrubbed it down. I had to take the top off and put some rocks in it so the wind won't blow it over. As you can see I added a large rock to the top also.

This is a Purple Martin. They are very hard to photograph just don't have enough zoom

The un tomato plant

Again not enough zoom to get a good shot of the bird. He sure was large, but to fast for me

The sky sure was blue today.

Have a great weekend.

  1. Most Lowe's offer delivery, just a thought.

  2. The area around the Iris plants looks good. I'm trying to decide if I want to decorate my "yard" here at work. I'll be here 6 months, but I don't have a lot of storage space in the RV. If I buy anything, I will probably have to leave it behind for the next person that stays in this spot.

  3. Hey John,
I know but is it worth it. I will just use what I have.
Hope your travels are going well.
Thanks for stopping by on your way out.

    Hello Teri,
I know lots of people that buy pots of flowers and leave them when they leave. Look for sales. It makes it so much more a home place. I hope you are enjoying your stay and job.
Thanks for coming for a read.

  4. I think maybe that bird, in the close up, is a starling. They have yellow bills, short tails. HATE them too. Got one nesting up under the eave of my front porch. They walk around on the ground eating, martins don't. My martins came back, looked at the falling apart house, and left it for the sparrows.

  5. Hi Trouble,
No the are Purple Martins, those nasty Starlings are larger than the Martins. The Marins are staying up high.

but thanks for stopping by today.

  6. Those birds just won't stop and pose for us will they??? I think you did very well with the pics!! I don't think we have ever had a Purple Martin. I don't have one of those tall Purple Martin nests so maybe they don't want to hang out here.
Patio furniture is too expensive!!! We looked this year also and decided to just use what we had. We use the zero gravity recliners we use when we travel...works fine!!

  7. Hello Happytrails,
I tried again today and nope he or she will not stay still once I get out the camera. But I found the nest site.

Yes the furniture is way to expensive and I don't know how long I am going to keep this place if the rent keeps going up and it will.

    Glad you came by today.
