What a Great Adventure Part 1

We finally went to Big Lake today. We weren't sure
how it would go since it was really cloudy. We all made
sure we brought warm clothes along. Liz made sandwiches,
chips, and stuff to eat with the sandwiches. I brought potato
salad and coleslaw. Lucy brought deserts and drinks.

It was really cold up there but it felt so good and smelled
so clean.

The next few pictures were taken at Lee Valley Lake

We then found a camp ground for horse riders only. This was such a beautiful area. I have never seen such huge trees before.

I took pictures of this tree in 3 stages and will post another time. But just look at the size of the base

A close up of the base

There were these corals scattered around the area

As you can see Lucy is dwarfed by the size of the dead tree

The rest of the tree it seemed to go on forever
There are so many more pictures and I will post more in the next few days.

Good Night All

  2. Did you feel like leprachauns? Did you find the pot of gold? Keep looking! That's what you had to feel like against those huge trees! And it's hard to believe that it's cold anywhere...

  4. Good morning John,
This will be the best time to explore now with cooler temps. Not to much threat from rattlers.

    Thank you for the visit.

    Hi Cyn,

You sure do feel very small in those trees. I'm glad they were spared by the awfull fire of last summer many were not. I think what we found may not have been a pot of gold but of absolute beauty. I'd send you some chilly stuff but I am going to hoard it all to myself. :)Unless you come up to enjoy it with us.

Thank you for coming and enjoying.

    Hello tinycamper,

I love to share my pictures with everyone. It is beautiful country. It feels like you have found a new planet or some far away place.

Thank you for coming by for a look and read.
