Truck Tent

This morning was the dreaded laundry day.  I don't understand how I can go through so
many clothes. I guess I am just messy.

I had been looking at options for camping with the truck.  The camper shells are really
low. While you can leave your stuff in them there still small.

So the next thing was the truck tent.  Yes you will have to unload after each trip but how
much would you carry for a few days. You can stand up in the tent and even use a chair
and a porta potty.

I went with the truck tent.  Mom's Little Runaway is really Little now. haha

Of course this is not my truck but this is what it will look like.

This is without the rain bonnet

I will pick up a cot and sleeping bag, picked up some lanterns today.
I will see how the first camp out goes to see if I need to go down the
mountain to get my other gear. Since there will be a few of us I can just
share there stuff.

Good Night All

  3. Congratulations! I've never seen a truck tent--looks like a great solution for your needs. So you have to unload and load. If you were towing you'd have to hitch and unhitch which I think is probably more work. Good luck and wonderful travels to you and Fred as you wander. Looking forward to hearing about what you find and see, and of course pictures!

  4. I looked at the truck tents myself several times. There are many different types and even have some with an extension so that the tailgate of the truck can be like a patio seat with a canopy over it!

Looks like fun and you won't have to sleep on the ground!

  5. Good morning John,

I can't wait for it to get here.

    Hi Cyn,

Today I will go check out a cot and some type of mattress and a sleeping back.

    Hello Teri,

Something had to give here. A van was never happening so the a truck was next. Now here we go.

    Hello Nancy,

Thank you! I feel like a kid in a candy store.

Your right I would have to hitch and unhitch. whats a few totes.
I can listen to the water lapping up against the shore. Sit and watch the birds while I drink coffee and take picturs.

    Hi Jim my friend,

I looked on a site called Truck Candy, they had so many to chose from. I have a screen room so I saved money on not needing the extension.

Sleeping on the ground was not an option. :)
