Oh I Just Don't Know

Still way to humid. I was going to walk over to my friend Rose's house today to bring her a few things.  But once I walked out the door and walked to the end of the driveway I turned back and took the truck. We sat for a while and drank some coffee. Rose was waiting for a guy to come and install her security screen for the bedroom window and the person to clean her windows. When I left they had not show up.

I did some cleaning around and found the command 3m sticky things I had been looking for. I even had been in the shed thinking they had been mixed in with some supplies for the camper.

I then called Rose to see if anyone had show up. The people to wash the windows did but not the installer. She called them and the guy said he thought it was tomorrow. Right. He promised to be there tomorrow between 8 - 8:30 am. At the cost of that security screen I would have chewed off his face. Of course I am just mean that way. But those screens are remarkable. They look like a plain screen but you really can't break them or get them off the window from the outside but very simple from inside.

The wind came up and the thunder rolled. I had been taking out my trash and noticed the rain coming down to the west of me. I thought for sure we were in for a good down pour. But NO it just rained itself out somewhere else out west.

Good Night All

  1. Too bad you didn't get some of that rain. This heat can really take a toll on a person.

  3. Hello Gypsy,

Yes really thought it was coming but then nothing. I'm so tired of this weather.

    Hi Carolyn,

I'm so happy for you to have been able to escape the humidity and heat. Sorry you have to leave it.

  6. I have totally given up on trying to get workmen here. It is beyond frustrating and makes me mad. We have had 3 different landscape people just disappear on the planet and they don't return calls. The same with a remodeling project in the kitchen but that was a total of 7 businesses that just didn't bother to return calls or give an estimate. Apparently they just advertise for work for the fun of it. Sigh. Hotter than blazes at least it seems that way with the humidity. :-(

  7. Hi JMD,

It is like that everywhere anymore what is up with that. I guess they don't need the work. I used to have this guy doing lots of things around here and all of a sudden he was to busy. OK I get that but who kept you working when you didn't even have a job and no money coming in. My sister and I got him lots of side jobs until he could find a full time job. And he charged plenty too.

I had to turn off the hot water to the sink in my bathroom because it was leaking so bad. I hope to have someone here Sat. It is one of those new faucets and I don't know how to change it out. You bet I will be watching

    1. If we were closer my husband would help with the sink issue, we aren't major diy people but a few things we can do.

Have you tried tightening the line and the washer that attaches to it? I dunno, he fixes ours but I have watched him do that.

    2. These don't have washers they are some new thing they came out with but heck they still go bad. And they weren't cheap either. When I took the handle off I was just standing there staring at it wondering what the hell is this. So I will make sure I watch the guy so I will know how to fix it the next time.
