I Have A Battery!

The guys showed up around 7:15 am and got right to work. They finished up around 9 am. Nice clean job too. Now if the weather will be nice and cool in the morning so I can fix the insulation I will be a Happy Camper. I will reload and hope to be on the road by end of next week. I have a follow up at the Dr. on the 21st then I am clear for take off.

After doing my lab this morning Rose and I went to Burlington Outlet  to see what was going on there. I picked up some bags to clean up  after Fred, and sun screen.

Since I hadn't had much of a breakfast we just headed home after wards.

I had been trying to get on the Tucson Electric Power Budget for over 2 months. I mailed in 2 app and they claim they never received them then I filled out one on line they claim to not have received that one either. Today they sent me another app. I wonder if they get bonus money for not processing these apps. I am not going to fill this out again. Soon I will be gone and when I return it should be cooler and the bill will be really low. With a budget the bill will always be higher than I want to pay.

Wires from the battery in the truck to the camper

The red handle on the left is where I will switch off from the truck battery when camping on the right side are 2 outlets.
Its hard to believe I had so much trouble finding someone to do this job. Thank You Darrell and Anthony. And thank you Lucy for getting this set up for me. Hope to see you in about a week.

Good Night All

  2. I so need to have a second battery. The computer has such a drqw I can only charge the computer when sun is shining. Much of the sun is not able to be stored and is therfore lost..... then there are the cloudy days.....It has been hard to catch up with all that I want to do with just the one battery.

  3. Isn't it aggravating when agencies "lose" papers and such and cause needless hassles.

  4. Budgeted power bills should be based on the amount of electricity that you use on a yearly basis. As long as you have lived in the home for at least a year that company should set you up immediately. I prefer going in to the office in person to set it up. When you are face to face with a real human there is less chance for mistakes.
Good job on the battery. Now you'll have more boondocking freedom. A simple Solenoid connected to the ignition would automatically disconnect the engine battery from the camper as soon as the ignition is turned off. Now just remember to reconnect your battery while traveling to charge it.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  5. Good morning John,

Yes seems like maybe I can get started fixing up and reloading a little each morning and get going.

    Hello Sharon,

Yes it's great to finally have this done.

    Hi Karen,

Can't wait to see how this works out. I know the computer takes lots of battery to charge. I may do solar next year. Hope you get that extra battery soon.

    Hi Phyllis,

So happy to see you here this morning. And your typing is perfect. Paper work is always so annoying and how do these people lose things like this must stink at their job. Keep making progress thinking about you often.

    Hi Rousseau,

I have lived here for 14 yrs. I just wonder who runs this office is it the same people who run the VA. I don't even know where the office is anymore they have moved so many times.

I had so many different people who looked at this job and yes some said to put the switch with the key. But none of them ever called back or showed up. And the other place was going to charge $1,000. So I am happy to have this just the way it is. And yes I better remember to switch it on an off. :)

  7. Hi Sondra,

Yea they got them all I'm sure. Lazy people or like I said they must get bonus money for every app. not processed so no budget and more money for the the company.

I hope to head north but it is still raining like crazy up there I don't want to have to stay in the camper I'll go mad. If it was a trailer with more space it wouldn't bother me.

  8. Hooray Jo, it looks like a terrific job. Right after discussing humidity is electricity bills, Beyond horrific. I finally broke down and purchased a folding rack to help dry clothes on to cut back on electricity bill craziness. Even towels after 10 mins in the dryer get put on it. Can't have a clothes line here in the HOA but this will help. Walmart rack and not the best I have ever seen but it gets the job done for less than $20. I put it in the shower, garage and at times on our patio that has screens to block views from prying eyes. :-D

  9. Hi JMD,

I had one of those drying racks at my place up north and left it there.

When I first moved to AZ. I would run home lunch time fold the wet clothes and put them in the yard on a table when I came home they were ready to be put away. I have a gas drier here but I still love the fresh smell of out door drying.
