I managed to fix the insulation that was fall down today glad it wasn't much because it was really getting hot in the camper. Well it was really hot outside. I also fixed the door so it won't lock me in anymore. One of my friends asked if the battery box was vented and I didn't know for sure but knew it would be easily fixed. On closer inspection today I see it has vents built into the cover. I also fixed the door so I won't get locked in anymore.
I even had grey paint to match the other colors you see are from my shirt.
Tomorrow I will check to see if it held
There are 2 of these vents
outlets caps are there over the top
Closer view of the cut off from the truck battery
And here comes Freddie
Hey mom are you done yet? It's hot out here
We had a little rain tonight but more thunder than rain.Good Night All
Probably Fred is the cutest dog yet! Just saying. My aunt and uncle had one and I grew quite attached to the little guy.
ReplyDeleteHi JMD,
DeleteHe is a sweet guy and he is not a yapper lots of doxies bark like crazy but no my Fred.
Looks like Fred completed his inspection of the work done and all s well.
ReplyDeleteGood morning John,
DeleteYes he does seem pleased with everything
Enjoy any rain you get. I'll be glad to see some here but only after I get my roof fixed.
ReplyDeleteWe had plenty of rain during the night. I hope you find a good roofer soon
DeleteGlad to see that darn battery installed. Fred looks like he's ready to go camping
ReplyDeleteHi Ryan,
DeleteMe too it sure made me happy. Yes he is not fond of all this heat.
I hope you get to go and try out that new set up....you gotta tell us how they did it--looks like they put it in a tackle box and Im figuring they wired it to your car battery and it gets charged by the cars alternator...and you have to turn it off when you are using it so the car battery doesnt get drained? Im trying to 'reverse" engineer it.. so I can fix up one! LoL I often think of the flintstones and how they got power by using lizards on wheels and such.
ReplyDeleteYou pretty much have the idea. But the battery is in a battery case which is vented. Right now the battery has a full charge so it is turned off so as not to overload and to not be using the trucks battery. When you need to charge the battery you turn the handle to charge and drive the truck a little or a lot what ever . I tell you those flintstones had all the right stuff and it was cheap too.
DeleteThat switch looks like it is to shut the camper battery off when not in use so it holds its charge. If the battery is an AGM battery no venting is necessary. If it is a standard water filled battery it should be vented to the outside atmosphere because they produce Hydrogen gases while charging making it explosive.
ReplyDeleteFred is looking happy to be running around.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Hi Rick,
Deleteyes that is what the switch if for. When charging the battery I will leave the window open a crack. But I need to call the guy and ask about that also I need the paper from the purchase in case the battery should fail.
Thanks for all you information.
Bet even Fred feels the heat.
ReplyDeleteHi Phyllis,
ReplyDeleteYes I had him out there while I worked on some things he sure let me know it was time for him to go into the house.
Wishing you well. And so happy to see you here once again.
