I Made It Back

Pulled in about 9:15 this morning. Woke up to lots of clouds so packed up, no coffee just drove on home. Got what was left in the ice chest and a few other things like dirty laundry and some camping stuff. And it began to drizzle not much but some.

Threw the clothes in the washer, made coffee and jumped in the shower. The shower was the best and being able to stand up and bathe and dress was the greatest. Made some breakfast and sat and enjoyed it. The coffee was the best ever. Now don't get me wrong I love the cowboy coffee but there's nothing like my coffee maker.

Later after lingering over my coffee, brought more stuff out of the camper and into the shed.  Tomorrow I will strip the bedding and get that washed. I also want to shampoo the carpet soon.

I will be looking for a small trailer in the spring. This is just not going to cut it.

It will take a couple of posts to get all the pictures up.

This Cricket was parked in the site across from me, but the people were gone all day. We would have liked to talk to them, but the next morning when Terry was walking on the path she waved at them and they snubbed her big time. In all I have seen and read this is so rare. Usually people are very friendly. I believe I posted this my first night out.
To tell you the truth even if I could afford one I sure wouldn't want it.
 Sunset the first night
 Just after sunrise

I believe this is Mount Baldy we took a ride up to the loop for some pictures

Good Night All

  1. I think one of the best things about having a trailer is everything stays packed and in it's place. Ice vest and dirty clothes come out and we are done. I use the back of my truck for extras like the portable kayaks and bikes. Even that stays locked and in the truck and ready to go. Makes for easy get always.

    1. Hi Karen,
Yes this is way to much work for an old lady. I am going to look for something come spring. I do have my eye on a 13' trailer but the guy wants way to much for it.

  4. Oh yea, morning coffee. While here in NJ it's WAWA for us. Probably didn't have WAWA's when you lived in the area. Best coffee EVER!

  5. I got to get a battery hook up like you got or a trailer, cause I 've had no hook ups on this trip Im still out opted for a motel last night so I could finally shower! Im not staying in one place but traveling each day and finding a campground that is not full has been a challenge. One thing I noticed is this when I speak to someone or wave and they dont return it...,many times they are European visitors and they just dont get it, that happened to me a few times already a Russian lady in the bathroom at Shenandoah Park I was saying "boy it was cold last night" she just looked at me and walked out so I thought geeze, then outside I heard her speaking to her husband in Russian, so then I said to myslef OHHHH now I understand!

    1. Hi Sondra,

The battery hook up is great but this is tough camping and I'm to old. And I want to go from place to place which means load everything up and then unload no fun like that.
These people were American as my friend heard them talking but man they were rude. I guess it takes all kinds. They had a small tent for the kid that my friend said was no cheapie either Well all the power to them to own such expensive things at such a young age.

    2. No, had to leave the house each day so am going to try to work on it again this weekend. I am too old and fat to crawl in a closet. Geesh!

  7. I am a coffee snob and have found the perfect traveling coffee making : an AeroPress. Am making coffee at home with the press. It is great for travel because it is easy to clean without water. And it takes up very little space. Most of all the coffee is perfect every time.

    1. Hi Prema,

What is it made of? If it's glass it scares me to take that along. I have tried the press before I don't think I did it right cause the coffee was full of grinds. :(P
      Thanks for stopping by.

    2. It is a hard grade plastic. he coffee filter papers, as opposed to the steel grid, eliminates most of the grounds.

  8. I make terrific coffee when I'm camping, using my Melitta coffee system. At home I use the Mr. Coffee and get good enough coffee, but for flavor I think Melitta is the best.

I have found quite a few campers that would refuse to acknowledge a wave or a greeeting. They will look you right in the eye and turn away, and I just don't understand why people are like that. They should go find camping in a disbursed spot if they don't like people. When I was full timing in my 5th wheel I couldn't believe how often I was snubbed by other RVers, so I've never believed the crap that campers are so friendly. They are just like the rest of the population. I have to say I've met more friendly people in my travels than unfriendly ones, however.

    1. Hi Gypsy,
I should look into the Melitta thing, I used to use the coffee pot all the time. Now if I'm not mistaken you can buy the cup and top part without the pot. I'm sure Carolyn uses that when she is on the road.

  9. One of the best things about a camping trip is coming home. :)

I think you would love a trailer, Jo. Having a bathroom, shower and mini kitchen makes such a difference. Are you still planning to look at the Casita?

  10. Hi Sharon,

Yes I am going to look at it tomorrow. He is asking way to much for it so I'll see what we come up with. It doesn't have a fridge it has an ice box, supposed to have a bathroom but I want him to run water into the tanks to make sure they are good and he didn't know if it had brakes because he claims he never used them. Someone is coming with me
