Nice Dinner

Kathy, Barb and I celebrated our Christmas tonight. Kathy will be going home early for Christmas so we did ours. I made a Mexican dish with rice, Kathy made a wonderful salad and Barb made a fantastic dessert. We also had wine, cheese, sausages, crackers and tortilla  chips, I made a dip to go with it.

I bought a bottle of Mascato wine and it was delicious, also finished off a little of what was left of another wonderful wine and Barb brought over a bottle of some red wine. I can't drink red it gives me brain damage right away. I stick with white or blushes.
We also exchanged gifts and we had a great time.

I loaded up the dishwasher and for a while it sounded like it was grinding something up but couldn't find anything. I bet it was another wire dish holder thing. I guess it's time to buy a new one. That is not what I wanted for Christmas. 8~(  It is original to the house so its older than dirt now. That is the last appliance to be replaces. But its replace or wash dishes by hand.....Replace wins the race.

Good Night All

  1. By all means replace the d/w if you can. I need to get a new one too, and have been washing by hand for about the last 2 years. I never minded it before, but I am getting SICK & TIRED of it !!!

  2. Just what you wanted for Christmas, maybe you can find one about 6'2" that likes to wash dishes.

  3. Ugh! Last month it was our drip system control box. That was not fun. Sorry but there should be some real good deals. Look on line to see the prices maybe Lowe's or Home Depot is running a hot sale. :-)

  4. Hi Gypsy,

I had to wash plenty of dishes most of my life, I'm done washing dishes. I do wash pots an pans and that's as far as I want to go.

    Good Morning John,

But that would create more work in other area's laundry, cooking, Ugk the list can go on. LOL

  5. Hi JMD,

Yes the hunt starts but they also have to install and I don't think Lowe's or Home Depot do that. It's always something

  6. We bought our dishwasher when we moved here because the one that came with the house didn't work (of course we didn't know that) and home depot installed ours and took away the old one. It was a hunk of junk.

  8. Today's post and comments were good for a good laugh. :) My answer to dishes is to keep the cooking simple....one pot meals with plenty of leftovers are awesome.

  9. JMD, when I bought the house the stove was broken but they had to get it fixed, 1 week after the insurance ran out the stove quit, new stove bought, then the fridge went replaced, washer took a dump, washer an dryer replaced sooooooo dishwasher out lasted them all. It still cleans the dishes really well but that grinding was not a nice sound so it's time before I wind up with a dish washer that may not drain and flooding is not a nice thing. I'll look into Lowe's then Home Depot, not happy with Kenmore anymore

    Hi Karen,

I do cook as much as I can at once and never use more pots or pans than I have too. Then use containers that I can heat the food in and eat out of . I like simple.
