Getting Ready

Didn't do much yesterday but weed patrol and more straightening out of the shed.

Arguing with the heath insurance and winning the battle. I was way under the monthly income limit and they don't know why I was turned down for help with RX. Of course it will take 6 weeks to  fix their mistake. But the women on the phone kept telling me to go get the meds and they would reimburse me I don't know how many times I had to repeat I didn't have $360. to give out right now and have to wait 6 wks or more to get the money back. Not to mention I don't trust them anyway. My Dr.s office called and told me to come in and get some sample pks and cut them in half. Thank you once again Dr. Fritz.

Talked to an old friend for quite some time yesterday who has had some real bad medical issues since Dec. and has spent more time in the hospital than out. But sounds like he is now on the road to recovery.

Today I went and picked up my meds and then was going to go shopping. I don't know what was going on today but the parking lot was packed so I just went home and did another weed patrol. And of course there were more little green things popping up all over the place.

The guy came today to give me an estimate to paint the house. It really needs it. Plus some of the trim boards are in bad shape and need replacing. So I have a guy coming tomorrow to give me and estimate on that job. I wish I had the money to stucco the place and end all this dry rot and painting.

All this money going out the door makes me tired.

Good Night All

  1. We had to do weed patrol also. Looked like we were trying to grow a lawn they were so bad. Dealing with health insurance companies is just an incredible ordeal. Thank goodness your doctor is a good guy.

  2. Glad you got that straight...the pharmaceuticals have millions over the barrel on the cost of medicine...when the copyright runs out they make a new drug by adding one small component to the old recipe and then stop making the old drug but make it under a new name and with a big price tag it should be illegal!!

  3. Hi Jim n Sandie,

Sure glad we won't be getting that rain. This is going to be a battle for awhile since we had so much rain this winter. But glad we did.

This nonsense with insurance has gotten out of hand.

    Hi Sondra,

Boy I swear these people must get bonus money if they turn you down for assistance. I was $2,000. under the allowance. Someone is really bad a math or like I said was working on bonus money. And yes these pills probably cost about .20 each to make. But there seems to be no government control over the pricing but then again they must get their pockets lined too.

  4. I'd love to have my house painted but there are so many more things I need to do with it, and painting is way down the list.

I'm off all prescription meds now and am doing very well without them. Two of them were costing me a lot of money in co-pay, even though I have great insurance coverage. I am so glad to not be supporting the drug companies any more.

  5. Hi Gypsy,

I haven't had my house painted in about 7yrs and it is time the sun here really does a job on the wood and some repairs were done last year and the guy never painted the wood at all. Some of the Fascia (sp) board is cracked and bending outward so I have no choice but to do the work.

As for taking the Crestor it is very important to ward of a stroke or heartache. So I will keep taking it as long as I don't have to pay those crazy prices.
