Need a Boat

I actually pushed myself out of the house this morning and re joined the exercise class. I did well and I am not hurting anywhere  or anymore than usual. I was going over some things with the instructor when I noticed it had started to rain. So I quickly departed. It wasn't to bad but soon turned into a nasty down pour. Roads quickly flooded and I couldn't get over to get off the road for about 2 1/2 miles. It was so hard to even tell what lane I was in and finally someone slowed down enough to allow me to get over and off the road. Even the parking lots where already flooded. I waited a while and it stopped and now I had to figure out which way to go. I took the main road I had just gotten off of and as I drove on it started to pour again. I knew any turn off would be completely flooded. Then the one road that would have worked I missed the turn. When I hit the worst of the turns it was to late to go anywhere but through the flood and mud. I had to down shift to be able to go. I had very little brake power after that so I just kept pumping the brakes and driving very slow until I was able turn into the Village. but still had to keep pumping my brakes, the truck started making some really ugly sounds too. But I made it into my driveway as slow as possible. I was never so happy to be home.

Fred needed out and he ran out the door and came to a screaching hault, this is what he saw

So I let him out the front side and he made quick work of it and ran back up on the porch. The little rolls of fence had been behind the house, between the wind and the rain they made it to the side. The water did go down after about an hour after the next down pour.

I went out to see how the truck was doing and drove it around the Village a few times and all the noises stopped and the brakes were back to normal phewwwww.

Good Night All

  1. Looks like you guys got it worse than we did. It stormed all night long and into early morning. Our street was a flood zone and part of our back yard. Now blue skies and sunshine.

  6. Hi Gypsy,

I hate driving in these storms the water comes so fast and with such force.

    Hi Sondra,

They sure can one minute it is blue skies then hard down pours. While the temps are down the humidity is awful and starting tomorrow it's back to triple digits AND the high humidity.

    Hi Phyllis,

My cousin said they had a bad storm on the coast yesterday too.
