The Storms That Are Not

We have had some cooler temps, not by much but at least under 100, but today it climbed up there and with the added humidity it was nasty.

Dark clouds, winds and thunder but no rain. All this noise and nothing. Today a loud boom and we thought for sure it was going to pour down, But NOT, not even a drop.

One of out friends came in from their summer retreat in Flagstaff for a couple of days. So Barb, Lois and I went to lunch and then hung out at Barb's for a bit to catch up. Lois heads back up to Flagstaff tomorrow.

Other than that not much else is going on around here.

Good Night All

  1. We are in the triple digits still, and we get rain storms almost daily sometimes twice daily...it only takes one day of 104F to make plants dry so we welcome the rain but not the heavy wind!

  2. Hi Sondra,

I heard some parts of town got really heavy rain, while we didn't even get a drop. We are back up into that same range and I don't have any outdoor plants left. My pots need cleaning out of all the dead stuff. Not going to bother anymore it's a waste of money.

  3. If it wasn't for the really long drain hose off my swamp cooler, my plants wouldn't get watered very much. Was my cooler's service mans idea to put the long hose on so I can walk around the yard and not waste water; course, when I use the AC instead then that is a different story. This has been a brutal summer for a lot of folks.

  4. Hi Emily,

What a great idea. But yes it is brutal this summer and my a/c runs almost all day. I let it rest in the early mornings and they haven't been to bad. Today it wa 108 so they say, my porch thermometer read 110. Tomorrow isn't looking any better.
