Mom's Little Run Away Is Finished!!

Today I added the finishing touches and put some gear in the camper. If I said I wasn't beat I'd be lying.

I need to fix the curtain for the right side window. It needs to have new Velcro added. I will have to sew by hand the curtain part and use something to glue the other side to the window frame. But that won't be all that hard.

So hopefully I will head out middle of April for a week to see how it goes and if something else needs to be added or removed. I did cut back on a lot of things that are just not necessary. I tried to cut back on the clothes and only took out one thermal shirt. But I no longer have 2 bins wonder how I managed that. Maybe I will realize that I do need 2 after the test run. Just want to make things easier for myself.

The heavier items that will be needed at the camp site will go at the end near the door for easier removal. Once they are out I will be able to put a chair their for sitting at night or in bad weather.

I built this shelf on the last remod for this coffee maker. It works off my deep cell battery. It came in handy when I did a winter camp out and it was pitch dark and freezing cold out. As you can see my lugable loo, privacy tent and behind that is my little solar panel

Fred's bed is under there and of course when in use non of these things will be in the way, I may even move the bed once the camping items are removed to the site

Hung some of my photos and other little things left over from the days of my TT a few years ago
You almost can't see the bear hanging off the side of the canoe

Those white tabs are to hold up the curtains I don't leave them up when driving.
I'm so ready to take off now but will wait need to get some water to take along and some pre made foods.

Good Night All

  2. Looks like you are all set for your first time out this year.
This has been a cooler than normal year so you might rethink bringing that extra Thermal Shirt.
Looking forward to reading about your adventures.

  4. You have done a wonderful job and it looks so professional!. Having been a long-distance backpacker I would say don't take a lot of clothes. I was walking and climbing and sweating a lot, which you probably won't do, and I had a lot of clothing I could have done without. Camping out is a time to get grubby to my way of thinking. Basic cleanliness is one thing, but changing clothes wouldn't be in my order of necessities. But you have to suit yourself.

    Hi Momi YaYa,

Thank you it takes a lot to store things in such a tiny space but I managed.

    Hi Phyllis,

When you want something bad enough and getting away from here was that bad. Maybe down the road a ways I will find a mice little camper or a high top van. But for now it is what it is and I'm going. :)

  10. That Run Away looks fantastic. Considering it's going to get hot here in the valley again this week, heading for the Hills is a good thing. Have a super great time.
