Canceled The Camping Trip

As I was gathering the dry food goods I had the news on and the weather report came on. Temps are going to be in very high 90's. I know it is a little cooler up there but not that much to make it a fun trip for neither Fred nor I. I am so disappointed but maybe next week as it looks like it will drop down into the mid to low 80's that is more comfortable.

Went to lunch with some friends today who will be heading up north in the next week or 2. We had a good time and hope to see each other up north some time this summer.

Good Night All

  2. So sorry to hear this but totally understand. Going to be 100 this weekend and that is way too hot for a fun camping trip.

    1. Hi Sandie,
They said this is the hottest April in a very long time. Figures.

  3. I know it must be frustrating, but you are certainly making the right choice, in my opinion. The whole point of going camping is to escape things like bad weather or temps.

Maybe you'll be able to go soon.

    1. Hi Jim,

Yes at least I have A/C at home. And most of the work is done on getting ready to go so hopefully next week it will be good.

    1. Hi Rick and Kathy,

Yes no point going there and dying from the heat. Thank you for keeping those fingers crossed

  5. Since Sacramento is only about 300 ft above sea level, most places I go to camp are at higher elevations and cooler than at home! I hope you get to make your trip soon.

    1. The place I wanted to go was only at 5K so that just isn't high enough to escape the heat.

  6. I too was getting excited to see you go on your trip. Everything happens for a reason and it would be very hot if you went right now I think. Hopefully you can make your camping trip soon and can post pictures of your adventure. Pam in Louisiana

  7. Let me add my 2 cents as well. You are doing the right thing. I've also canceled trips due to weather. The whole idea is to be comfortable and relaxed. It's just not worth it if you can't get cool. There is always next time and something to look forward to. :) ---- VT

    1. Hi Brad,

I appreciate your 2 cents. That kind of heat is not healthy for me or my dog. But we will get out soon.
