Yesterday and today the wind returned with a vengeance. Aircraft used to pour retardant and water on the fire had to be grounded. Wed. with the lower wind they had gotten a 40% containment but the fire has reached 47,000 acres. After today I don't know yet. Tomorrow should be a calm day and for the next few days with lower temps also.

My NJ cousins left today and wondered about the take off in these crazy 35 mph wind gust. Wishing them a safe journey home.

With these high winds I stayed indoors as the allergies are terrible and my eyes burn like crazy.

I put up a pot of veggie soup and baked some asparagus.

That is all I have for now.

Good Night All

  1. It has been very windy in Sacramento as well. I've been sneezing more than usual today so there must be something being stirred up by the winds.

  2. Good idea to stay inside it's the same here in South TX HOT and windy.

  3. Hi Emily,

I was nice and cool to bad we again had winds after being told they had passed.

    Hi Gypsy,

Yes lots of sneezing, trees are blooming such pretty flowers and nasty pollen.

    Hi Sondra,

I went out on the porch for awhile when I thought the wind quit. Started to sweep up the mess from the tree next door and here came big old blast of wind. Drats! But it was cool, sorry about the heat in TX

  4. That's a shame about the fire. I was in Colorado Springs the year they had a terrible fire. The allergens were awful. Being asthmatic it was difficult. Hopefully the fire will be under control soon.

  5. Hoping things have calmed down out there by now. Windy last few days here in Alabama too.

  6. Hi Brad,

The fire seems to have run it's course more in the new blog I'll post later.
My daughter came back from a trip to Colorado Springs last week she fell in love with it but sure didn't care for bitter cold a few days.

    Hi Phyllis,

The winds are now heavy breezes.
