It Rained!!

Sunday was a little cooler so Tracy and I did our breakfast my grandson Eric and his girl Christian joined us that was fun and nice to spend some time with them.
then we made a quick  run to Walmart and then off to Sam Levitz Furniture. Tracy has been in need of a new entertainment center for quite sometime and finally found one there at a really good price. While the guy was writing up her bill we went to the clearance dept. and she also found a really nice Microwave stand with shelves and a drawer, that was also really marked down. They had the entertainment center there but the micro stand was not and told us we could drive to the other store to pick that up. Not happening have it delivered to this store and we can come back next week. They loaded the entertainment center into the truck. It needed to be put together so it was easy to fit in the back. She loaded it into her trunk when we got back to my house. All she had to do was put her back seat down and it slid right in.

I had been getting all these urgent weather alerts Saturday and nothing every happened. Sunday more urgent weather alerts and still nothing. But the temperatures did drop into the the 90s which was nice even though the humidity was high.

I even ventured out twice yesterday because it was so nice out. Later on late afternoon I thought I heard thunder but when I looked outside I didn't really see to many heavy clouds. About 20 min later I hear the sound of rain on the awning. As I opened the door it hit good. It poured buckets for a good 15 min and then just a nice steady drizzle that continued all through the night and stopped around 5:30 am.

As I was walking to my room to get ready for bed last night the house suddenly went totally black. Oh no power. So I did the outstretched arm walk to feel my way to the end of the room where the lanterns where. I found the one that should have been in the living room, but I couldn't remember how to turn it on. I finally felt the switch and got it turned on. I found the other one and turned it on too. Its funny how you or at least I still hit the light switch as I entered the bathroom. Got my teeth brushed and started to head back to the living room and the power came back on. OK now to fix all the digital clocks in the house and turn off all the lights. Good thing the phone has a clock and I also have a battery powered one in the living room.

It was so nice out this morning I opened the door and some windows and for the first time in almost a month I opened all the blinds. It was heaven.

I went out a few times today just because it was so nice out. We will start to have more rain now I hope, they say tonight and maybe tomorrow afternoon. The rain has really helped the firefighters get these blazes under control. The firefighters have been struggling for months already with all these fires. May God keep them safe.

Good Night All

    1. Hi Rick and Kathy,

Glad you like the picture, it was taken in Tubac couple years ago.

    1. Hi Sondra,
We are having one heck of a storm right now. And yes it is a blessing, things have been dying even the cactus looked bad. Happy you got to go out and explore a bit. Tracy is very happy with her new things. she doesn't do it very often as a matter of fact we were trying to figure out how old her entertainment center was and I think we came up with maybe 15-20 yrs and her house has the smallest kitchen counter so it get hard to do anything once you sit a micro on it. Now she has room for it and a toaster and mixer right at hand.

  5. Dropped to 90 degrees! Who thought we'd be saying that. It has rained here almost every day for a month. Still hot and muggy and more mosquitoes.

I laughed about your outstretched arm walk because I used to wonder how anyone could walk into a door and break their nose or get a black eye. I found out it's possible with the walk you describe. LOL

I don't have much to talk about so haven't blogged. This weather plays havoc with me--my whole body feels alive with pain. I've been getting in the pool every other day to try to help. Think I did more damage than I thought with my "back flip". Also age and arthritis. I have the itch to travel. Now what? Hugs to Fred.

    1. Hi Nancy,
Yes it was wonderful even if the humidity was up. Plenty of rain happening here now and lots of thunder n lightening.

Be careful with your back take it easy in the pool. Yep age has us now, but we can fool it some of the time.

I really want to go somewhere too but I will just wait it out and go in the fall.

  6. Hi Jo. Thanks for dropping by my blog. While you swelter we freeze. Actually today not too bad. It's pretty cool with thick fog and around 5'C/40'F, hopefully warming up to 9'C/48'F. I think our cold is pleasanter than your heat:)

  8. Hi Jo! Sorry to hear about the darkness. I do the same thing with the outstretched arm. It seems universal!

I'm glad you got some rain. We we happily send some of it to you from Iowa. Take care! Glad the furniture shopping worked out!
