Cooler

This week was mostly spent at home doing lots of house cleaning. I can no longer move my bed so I had to come up with a solution to that problem. I hate asking anyone to come and move it. So luckily I have a shop vac and the tubes fit the vacuum tubes and the shop vac has a piece to clean the floor. It worked like a charm I was able to get all the way under from both sides and up from the bottom. And with the use of just the tubes I was able to get the floor edges at the top half of the bed too. Sure made me happy. I have been saving boxes for donations and sales of things to get rid of but not much has been happening with that so the boxes went out to the shed today. I do have some things packed to donate so I will back the truck in tomorrow and load the stuff up.

It has been cool in the mornings. Its  so nice to open the door and windows until around 11 am. Of curse the east side of the house gets pretty hot about 10 even though that's it's covered over by the carport.

Today my daughter Debbie stopped over with Miliany and we had fun singing songs and her showing me all the silly faces she can make. She speaks really well and she can also speak a little Spanish it's really funny.

I have lots of cheater reading glasses around the house but only one pair worked for the computer and they broke. Guess it's time for an eye exam and order a pair that will work. It's been a few years since I had an eye exam because Health Ins. doesn't cover eyes unless you see a specialist and so many will not take my ins.

Good Night All

  1. I went to feed the cats this morning and was surprised it was actually cool. I am not a morning person so have no idea when this started.

What a good tip to use the shop vac tubes on your regular vacuum.

Wish we had a place to donate like Goodwill or Salvation Army. I need to get rid of so much stuff :-(

  2. Nice that you solved the bed problem. Fun to get a visit from you daughter too. Great that things are cooling down a bit for you as well. Cheater glasses you should be able to pick up at a pharmacy. I had many pair before I needed a prescription for driving.

  3. Cool weather! I can't wait for full fledge fall so I can't imagine what you must feel after the heat wave you have suffered through, Jo.

I can't clean the way I used to, and it drives me nuts. Vacuuming under the bed is almost impossible at this point. Once in a while I ask Susan if she can do that part for me. Oddly enough, I've gone back to the old mop or broom for a lot of chores--and do things in five minute increments.

    Love to Fred.

  4. Hi MsBelinda,

While the cool temps don't last to long I enjoy them while the last. From the looks of things we will be seeing cooler temps in about 2 weeks. So they say.

Do you have second hand stores in your area that maybe would take your things. I won't donate to Good Will or Salvation Army as they charge and arm and a leg for their stuff and the workers get all the good things. I donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters, or when I can catch someone headed to Gospel Mission I give it to them.

    Hi George,

Yes it worked great it was driving me crazy to think of how much dust must be under there. Yes it is nice to have cooler weather and waiting for it to really cool down.

I have several pair of cheaters all over the house I buy then at Dollar Tree. The problem is they don't work for seeing the computer, so I'm still wearing the broken ones the ear piece broke off. I can see fine for distance but I will take these with me so they can see what works.

    Hi Nancy,

Yes won't it be great when we realize fall even if it is already winter by then, LOL

Yes cleaning comes in small spirts it takes longer but at least I feel like it's getting done. I have an upright vacuum and I hate the thing but it is a really good one that was my dads so I won't be getting rid of it for some time and it is already about 11 yrs old.

  5. I am to the age and the health issues with getting up and down, that I kissed the underside of the bed goodbye and don't worry about it. I have a bed skirt that goes from the top of the springs to the floor, so I don't have to look at the underside of the bed. When I die and my kids are taking everything out, they will probably say "OMG, she didn't clean under the bed for years!" I'll be laughing from wherever I am.

  6. Hi Gypsy,

HAHA that's funny. I have a bed skirt too but I need to change it out as the elastic has given out I have tightened so many times but its done. I have a new one I bought a few years ago but never used it because it needs to be pressed

  7. Good you are able to get under the bed cleaned up mine is pretty tall so I can get under it with a dust mop and get all those "bunnies" out. Cobwebs have been a big problem since all the rain...I think it drove them inside! Thank you for the birthday wishes!!

  8. Hi Sondra,

I have carpet in there and it is a real pain. So glad I got under there. We have rain again today and tomorrow from that hurricane up from Mexico. How is your ceiling coming along? Hope someone baked you a cake for your birthday.
