Is It Over Yet!

Christmas Eve was great and went off without a hitch. We had lots of food and lots of laughs as always. My grandson Adam and his girl Selma are the first to jump in the kitchen and get things moving. They both have learned to cook and love being in the kitchen. I had pre made macaroni salad, peppers n onions and only had to make the sausage. When Eric called and said they were coming early as they had to go to her family for a late gathering I quickly got the sausage in the oven. Well they were the last ones to arrive LOL. Eric got stuck working late and he forgot the cheese cake. Oh well lots of laughs and the boys tease each other constantly about just silly things all in good nature. Everyone cleared out about 7:00 pm. The kitchen was totally cleaned up and all I had to do was flop into my chair, then later read some blogs.

Today was the other half of the family, it's amazing how this is the problem side of my family. My daughter came early to help put the tray of ziti together with all the cheeses and sauce to be baked and she made a great antipasto salad. 1pm came and went and no kids. Finally Tracy called her daughter and said Alexis wasn't answering her phone. Sleeping?? 2pm not a word. Tracy calls Aliya back and tells her she's coming to pick her up. I text Alexis to tell her not to pick up Aliya to just come straight here. Tracy's car will not start bad battery cable and she is parked behind me in my driveway and she has a melt down. Anyway to make and incredibly long story short Alexis picks up Aliya and Anthony decided to come after all with his kids. So dinner is finally eaten at 4pm. Anthony fixes the cable and we all finally sat and had a wonderful day.

I'm exhausted but happy, got to see 2 of my grandchildren Alexis and Jason, I only seem to see on Christmas so I really enjoy that. And then to see my 2 great grandchildren who are fun as always.

As I was reading some blogs tonight I heard thunder and now it is pouring down rain. Hmm didn't know that was coming. For the next week we will only be in the 50's for the days high. Fine by me I love the cold!

Good Night All

  2. Hi George,

Yes thank you. It's always fun when the grand kids show up hard to believe that just yesterday they were babies and now all in their 20's and on in his 30's.

  3. We had rain during the night over this way east of you but not much and no thunder. It's about 48ยบ at this hour so no chance of snow! You have quite a family there and that is what keeps you going, even though some of the events can be a bit exhausting. Have a good week.

  4. Does't every family have a little drama? At least on one side of my family. I'd get worried that someone was sick without it.

  5. I don't think I've ever held or attended a family gathering that went like clockwork! Something always delays at least one family, or something is forgotten, etc. But I love to be with family nonetheless!

    1. Hi Gypsy,

I think at my age I finally figured it out, just go sit somewhere until it all works itself out and it did and it was a wonderful time.
