Some Days

No more snow in my area just freezing cold yesterday and the temps never left the mid 40's. So I busied myself around the house taking down the decorations  and putting things to rights. I removed all the tree ornaments and put them in there tote. But the fake snow is a bad thing. I don't know that that stuff can be good for anyone never mind some one with a lung problem. It was everywhere and I was coated with it. Today I just took it and put it outside until Sunday when my grandson comes and puts it back in its box. They can have it or we can donate it. I will never put that thing in my house again.

I vacuumed really good and then dusted everything. Then dragged the end table from the front room back to its place.

Then for my next trick, I spilled a bottle of water on my laptop and key board. I quickly turned the laptop upside down, put the key board on the floor and ran for a roll of paper towels. Seems OK so far. I caught the bottle on the sleeve of my shirt. I really hate wearing long sleeves and of course they are always way to long. I would have probably cried if I had ruined my laptop.

So that was my day and I was happy to be able to sit and relax after cleaning up yet another mess.

Oh and it was a gorgeous day today at 69 degrees, had the front door open for some fresh air. Forecast for tomorrow is 66 and cloudy and Sunday back down in the 50's with rain. But that's fine with me.

Good Night All

  2. It always feels good to put that stuff away right? I agree that fake snow probably not a good idea...you may be able to wash it off with a hose outside..

  3. Hi George,

Yes I am lucky this laptop is only about a year n half old and a new one just isn't in the budget right now. But yes enjoyed that wonderful sun yesterday and higher temps. Loved having the door open.

    Hi Sondra,

Yes it does feel good to put it away but now the house looks so bare. But at least it's clean now. Maybe it can be washed off good idea we'll check it out tomorrow. thanks

  4. When we decorated our House for the Holidays it seemed to come alive. Putting it all away was nearly depressing.
Many Offices, Schools and Libraries don't allow any Food or Beverages around the Computers to avoid those kinds of accidents.
Glad your Laptop survived. A Computer tech told us the What If your computer ever got wet. Pull all the power supplies, Plug and Battery. After inverting it on a Towel Wrap some Rice in a Paper Towel to put in the Battery Compartment. Place rightside up overnight and the Rice will draw all the moisture out of the Keyboard. At that point you should be safe to continue using your laptop again without future problems.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  5. You really have a lot of energy! I'm certain you are much younger than I am, so maybe I had it "back in the day". I don't even bother to decorate any more as it doesn't give me joy and is just a bother to put up and take down. Quick thinking on the laptop - I lost my 1st laptop that way.

  6. Hi Rick and Kathy,

Yes first thing I did was disconnect the power source then turned it over. I have never been able to open the battery comparment on this laptop. I think this one has a much tighter key board so not much seep in if any. I did leave it upside down for some time and kept wiping what ever water was on it. I also turned my keyboard over and tapped it to let any water leak out. Sure glad it turned out OK. I kept the lids on the bottle today.

    Hi Gypsy,

I do not have lots of energy believe me. It takes all day for me to do anything because of COPD so I just do what I can and take a break.
