I received a text at 3:55pm my order should reach my home by 4:09 pm. It arrived at 4:11 pretty good. I'm glad I caught him as he was piling the bags up against the door. My door opens out so I would have been stuck. I only opened the door a crack and said I think this could be a problem, we both laughed and I closed the door and he moved the bags. When he left I wiped the bags down with alcohol and brought them in. Almost at once I realized not everything came in. I wiped down each item and put them away. I brought up the e-mail and it explained that the missing items were out of stock. And they gave something else in it's place if they could at no extra cost, some items were reduced since I ordered and I received the lower price. I ordered a 4pk of 3m sponges and all they had was a 9 pk and I paid the same as the 4pk. It sure will be nice to have fresh veggies again. Yes I will put in another order next Friday and hope they have the missing items then.
Today I cleaned up the yard, pulled some weeds and raked up all the leaves from trees I don't have. And worked on my crocheting.
I watched some YouTube videos on how to make scones, I may try a batch. But I am going to have to find a recipe for wheat bread since that was one of the things that I didn't get in my order. I thought I ordered it but it wasn't on the list I have some bread as I really don't eat that much.
Stay home if at all possible lets fight this thing.

I tried to order thru WalMart pick-up (like I've been doing for over 5 months). No way. There are 15 spots for pickup. Every one, every time slot filled for the next 7 days. Would not take orders beyond a 7 day time period.
ReplyDeleteI've thought about delivery. We live about 9 miles from the nearest Walmart out in the country. Don't know if they deliver that far. Will have to check it out.

I guess I got luck this week but next week some people get there checks and food stamps so may have to wait a week before I can get and order day. But I'm good just in case.

I have been ordering my groceries online for about a year and really like it, but they are often out of one or more products that I want. If I was shopping in the aisles I could easily pick a substitute, or decide I didn't need it all that badly, but can't do that online. The situation is getting worse with more and more people ordering. I'm sure the stores have reduced staff to handle the increased orders, so I try to not complain.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried order my normal supplies and having delivered but it sure is good that some companies had already put that service into action. Normally my time is spent outdoors and I only go into stores to buy food...so far I have had only necessary contact with others and been able to keep my distance with them. Our Gov. just announced that anyone coming in from NY, NJ CT, and LA have to go through a 14 day quarantine, I don't know how they will be able to figure that out!

ReplyDeleteI know you have been doing this since you quit driving. Yes it is to bad when you want something and they don't have it. Like you I would walk the ailes to look for a sub but well we don't have much choice right know unfortunately. Next week is going to be really hard to get on the deliver list since it will be the first of the month. But I think I will be fine for to go into the middle of the following week. Some stores highered more people and some have laid off a few. Heard one of my grandsons got layed off today as they closed the store he works out until further notice.

I know Walmart has been doing the shopping for people for quite sometime but you had to pick it up. I sure happy they started doing delivery this week. It gave some people work that otherwise would not be working because their jobs closed up. I guess they will have posts at the boarders to check who is coming across from those states and then somehow make them go into quarantine. I don't know but this is getting bad. Stay safe and well
It is a good thing you caught him before he left you unable to open your door. In Del Rio there is only pick-up service...they do not deliver.

Still lots of weeds out there and that stinkin mequite tree us already blooming and dropping crap everywhere, not to mention horrible allergies from it
