More Wind

For the next few days we are enjoying a cold front yes that's what I said a cold front. Temps are down to mid 90's. But with all the wind you still can't enjoy the outdoors. Some mornings the wind comes in from the northeast and the smell from the fire comes all the way here. For a few days the winds were down and they got a bit of containment but I don't know how they did the last 2 days.

Couldn't get any news on the fire because  our governor was doing his dance about the huge rise in Covid19. Gee I wonder who's fault that is. So bars and gyms are closed again. He still will not enforce mandatory masks, and leaving it up to the mayors, what a looser. Afraid to ruffle trumps feathers.

So I continue to stay put and do my routine around here. Crocheting on the baby blanket but it doesn't seem to grow much.

We lost a dear family friend this Friday morning. Most of my grandkids are devastated as they all loved him so much. He was only 18 when he took the roll of step dad to 4 kids. There bond was such a beautiful one. And continued even after the divorce. I feel so bad for the youngest who lives in CO. . Those 2 were thick as thieves and she is having such a hard time not being with family right now. She said she is so happy she had made the visit in March and they talked about her moving back here. Elvis was born with many medical problems and was only given a year if that. Well he made it to 38 he was a tough guy. But the second round of pneumoniae in 4 mths finished his already struggling heart. He had a smile that seemed to never leave his face. You never knew if he was not well he just wasn't going to let you know. RIP you are missed

Good Night All

  1. I am very sorry for your loss and that of your grandchildren. He must have been a great man to have taken the role of step-father at such a young age and at the same time made a huge difference in their lives. May he rest in peace.

Wish I could send some of these cool temps and rain down your way.

  3. Very sorry for your loss, it's never easy and you never get over it is my experience. I know the void...it's devastating. The fire is scary, we have had a lot of rain so no dry tinder here...Hope soon that fire is history. Be safe.

    Hi Sondra,

I worry about the youngest one in CO. she is taking it so hard her own father was never there for them and Elvis did his job. Thank You.
The winds were really bad these past 2 days and there are many fires some easily put out but these 2 big ones are tough. Humidty is building and dew point is up there but they don't see any rain yet

  5. Sharing thoughts with your other friends sending condolences for you and all with your family loss. And those dang pesky fires and those that are fighting them. I could actually see the Gilas yesterday.

  6. Condolences on the loss of your friend. Sounds like he was an amazing guy.

It is a tragedy the folks who have to face the death of a loved one are unable to gather together to grieve and celebrate their lives. We had two friends who have recently lost their husbands. Neither were able to visit in the hospital or have a proper viewing or funeral. My heart breaks for them and all others facing this situation.

  8. Hi Emily,

    Thank You

The are 115,000 acreas now we are having a bit of humidity and possible storms but with the storm may come more lightning.

    Hi Phyllis,

Yes to be laying there and not beable to have your loved one by your side has to be horrible and like wise for the close family to not even be allowing in the hospital. I spoke to my granddaughter today befor she had to go to work. I just wish she was here so I could hug her and hold onto her. Yes as far as a funeral or anything like that who knows how that will get handled with this out of control Covid19.

    Hi Rick and Kathy,

Thank You and he sure did.

  9. Sorry for your loss on top of everything else you're dealing with. The worldly goings-on don't help matter any. Hang in there!
