Is Winter Back?

After a week or more of such beautiful weather it turned down right cold today. My outdoor temp reading was never higher than 57 degrees. I was still thinking it was going to warm up so I went to Lowe's and bought some flowers for the porch.

Then came the breeze,  a very cold breeze at that. The flowers are sitting on the porch in their hot house containers. It was just to cold out there and windy. I hope they don't freeze and die tonight. It is supposed to go down to 33 and I wouldn't be surprised if it will be more like 30 degrees.  At 5 pm when Fred and I headed out the door for out walk I checked my thermometer and it said 49. We went down the block but Fred and I both were freezing and we came back home. In the morning it will be sweater time for Fred or he won't go out at all. haha

My #2 daughter is coming tomorrow so we can go see her Friends new house and to the donation center for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. We have lots of stuff to drop off.

Stay warm

  2. My favorite temperatures, JoJo, are between 50 and 75 degrees. That's why I head west to the mountains in the summer.

Hot, humid, buggy, awful Atlanta summers are miserable.

By the way, Jack is getting a big head with all your nice compliments! ;-)

  3. Hi John,
You don't want me to share? OK the when it gets nice and in the 70s I will keep it all to myself. I should be the same today but at least the sun is shining.
Have a great day and thanks for coming.

    Hello Nancy and Jack,
My favorite temperatures are between 65 - 75, and thats why I head for the mountains come April 15 and I am so ready for it too. :)

Give Jack a hug for me and thank you for stopping by.

  4. Did you put your new plants in "shock"? Even if the tops die off, you'll probably still have new growth from the roots. A brief dip under 32 won't hurt them.

  6. We were having such nice warm weather that I even had my entry door opened, along with the windows for 2 days. Now everything is shut & I have the electric heater going...what a difference a day makes huh? It does get tempting to go buy plants when the weather is nice though.
