Mom's Little Run Away is sold

The guy called early this morning to come see it. He can barely walk and is going in for surgery on Wednesday. I take back 1/2 of everything bad I said about him. He turned out to be a really nice old guy. And bought it on the spot. We went to the bank and I walked out with my price.

But he wanted to get some one to pick it up right away. WHOA hold on partner. I have to unload this thing and it will take the rest of the day for that.  And it sure did to. I got quite a bit done before I couldn't do anymore. I called my #2 daughter and she came over after diner and helped with the rest.  I put the stuff at the door and she carried into the house or the shed. I really didn't want this mess in the house. So we piled it in poor Fred's room and I don't think he likes it much.

A few comments I couldn't answer today I can answer now.

I had not planned on selling until I got back from Lakeside in Oct. I had told my mechanic I wanted to sell it. Old Jesse goes there too and he told Pete he really wanted another RV. End of that story.

Nancy asked about how much cooler it is in Lakeside. It is 15 to 20 degrees cooler and not so dry. I love it there but I don't like much cold or snow so I come back here for the winter. I guess now I am a snow bird. :)

It just hit me how much easier it will be to load up the car. I have a terrible slope at the beginning of my driveway and the car comes right to that edge because of the motor home, which makes it quite hard to load the car. I can't back it in because then you couldn't open the back door. Now I can back it in and load it up. That will be great.

So I am totally exhausted and I need to go rest up so I can get this house organized so I can leave and not have a messy house. They should be here around 9 am tomorrow to pick  her up.

  2. Congratulations, Jo. The year I went out west I only found heat in Las Vegas where I met my daughter and on the way home. It was very hot in the southeast, and other than the time in Arizona, I never took my sweatshirt off. My kind of weather--even the nights in the 20s in Idaho didn't bother me one bit. I hate the heat and bugs. Again, congrats.

  3. Wow, congrats! I'll take back what I was thinking too. It's too easy to forget & start judging people...
BTW, I've decided that If I get to spend my summer in Pa that instead of a snowbird, I'll be a mocking bird! ;-)
Which is fitting since it's the state bird of Texas...

  5. Hi John,
Yes it sure was fast and the day was like a crazy mess. I have to go out and move my car so they can get the motor home out of the driveway. I will wait until I come back in Oct. to start looking.

    Hello Nancy,
When I worked the heat didn't bother me so much because I was in a/c office all day and I went to work very early in the morning and got off late in the afternoon. I sure felt it the first summer I was home and by the second summer I was not a very happy person. Thirs summer was the charmer when I left for the mountains.

    Hi Cyn,
A mocking bird well that's cool hahha
