We made it!
This will take more than one post since we stopped at a
few places along the way. It is very sad to see these towns
in ruin. They advertise about all the renovation going on but
we sure didn't see that. But we had a great time.
I will start with Holbrook, AZ Route 66 this Motel is still
in use
These next pictures are from place called Geronimo. The
petrified wood was amazing. Also amazing stones
More to come tomorrow.
Good Night All
Good old Route 66, I've run the entire thing in pieces. Lots of neat stuff to see.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I started out on Route 66 then left then caught up with it again ... it really is sad but there is a whole group of people who revere this route and even have a Route 66 Yahoo group...
ReplyDeleteLots of history and, of course, I remember the TV series... old
good series... get your kicks on Route 66... aw jeez now I'll be singing that all night... pfffft
Good morning John,
ReplyDeleteI guess that's how I will get to see it too.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hi Carolyn,
I want to see as much of it as I can. That has been my idea for a long time.
Sorry if you get the song stuck in your head tonight.
Glad you stopped by Thanks.
Lots of history along that route. I love the crystals and the petrified wood!
ReplyDeleteThat area is so interesting. I remember going through parts of Old 66, seeing the petrified wood and seeing the signs for Geronimo. But maybe this time i will get to stop for more than just 'fuel-up'. Have been through Holbrook area.

ReplyDeleteHi Jim,
ReplyDeleteYes lots of history but to bad they can't fix some things up an make tourist dollars work for the rest.
Thank you for stopping by today Jim.
Hello Sunny,
Maybe if you get down here again we can head out there or somewhere of interest.
Thanks for coming over for a read.
Hi Princess,
I forgot about that one.
