Sun Dog

Today started out hazy and dull. A trip had been planned to go visit the Roxanne
and Anne out in the middle of nowhere. Well it it isn't really nowhere. But it is out
there and peaceful. Lucy came and off we went. What a beautiful spot they have out
there. I brought Fred along but he just couldn't settle down. Way to many smells. I
had to put him in the car. There are lots of wild things out there and I guess all the
smells confused him.

The sun came out and the wind picked up and made it cold. But we all persisted and
stayed out doors. Had crackers and different dips and sushi made by Lucy.

As we wondered around the property some said look there a sun dog. So out came
camera's.

Lots of foot prints of many animals where spotted
Look to the top of mountain and you can see
Kitt Peak Observatory

It was still quite hazy but this is looking down to the valley

And of course the crew  Lucy, Roxanne and Anne do we all know how to
work to hard?

Looks like some kind of beast poor old dead thing

The weekend is upon us so be careful and enjoy!

Good Night All

  2. Good morning John,
It was a wonderful outing. But Fred doesn't seem to understand the danger of cacti. And of course he thinks he needs to eat them.

    Have a great day.

  4. Hi Carolyn,
I guess I should have posted this with the picture,
atmospheric phenomenon that creates bright spots of light in the sky, often on a luminous ring or halo on either side of the sun.

  6. I really enjoyed your pictures today, Jo. I didn't know that was called a sun dog. I have also seen them a couple of times with a rainbow colored circle around them.

  7. Hey Carolyn,
See who said you can teach us old folks nothing new.

    Hello tinycamper,
They have other names but this is the one I have known. I bet the ones with the rainbow colors are really striking. I will have to pay more attention.

Glad you stopped by today ladies.

  8. Catching up on your blog in case you are wondering ;-)
Cool shots of the sun dog! Speaking of dogs, poor Fred!
I'm soooo jealous though! Out in the desert with the Ducks - how fun! What is that on top of the mountain? The white structure with the ball on it? Are the Duck aliens? Do they check in with it? Inquiring minds need to know...
