So Many Fires

The temperatures have gone done by a couple degrees but it is still so hot and so very dry. There were 2 fires in Cochise County near Benson, and the fear of them joining did happen. Because of the winds there and the dried grasses of the winter they can not even get any containment. Buildings have been burned and a home. The area has little ranches and farms so they are on high alert to evacuate.

You always get excited when there is a wet winter but then realize all that grass and other vegetation that grows like crazy dies and drys out in the high temperatures and create high fire hazards.

I finally went to get a hair cut this morning and the regular girl wasn't there. My hair cut is so bad I don't even want to talk about. But can we say HAT!

Good Night All

  1. I think this is going to be a scary fire season in several places. Montana is also predicting a bad one. I've had hair cuts like that - in fact I came out of the shop one time and Jim just looked at me horrified. That was really bad. Thank goodness it does grow out.

  3. Hi Sandie,

Yes maybe in a way staying home might work out to my advantage. It isn't saying we can have fire here as there is desert right on the other side of the wall and these kids with ATV's run all over the place the heat that comes off there engines can easily ignite the dry brush.

    Hi Sondra,

Yes I missed the news tonight as I had a house full and no TV was turned on. I will go back to the salon next week as with all she cut nothing was done on the neck line. GRRRrr

  6. Hi Jo, It seems to me that it's fire or water in the wrong place all the time. Flooding, wind, etc. I hope you got my email. Hope all is well and you are out of the way of the fires.

    1. Hi Nancy,
I did not get an email from you. Or if it came under something I didn't recognize I would have deleted it. Having so much trouble with Yahoo want2go60@gmail.com might work better and in sub. line add Jack and I will know it's you sorry. We seem to be fare enough from most hazards for now.
      Take care

  8. Hi Jo. I never thought about the impact that rain can have. First thought is that it is a blessing but what a two edged sword... Sorry to hear about the fires.

  9. Hi Brad,
Yes it is sad. They thought they had one just about out and then a huge gusting wind came through and it flared back up. Tonight they think they may have a good handle on it again. But we are in for some really high temps this coming weekend and for the next week.
