It's Here, It's Here!

It was slow coming and thought it would never materialize. It started off Sat. with just a few sprinkles .  Sunday it thundered and had lightening off to the northwest then a hard down pour that made it hard to see across the street then it was over in about 5 min. Yesterday it started off slow again but kept coming until mid afternoon when it let loose it poured for quite some time till evening. Today it started raining about 1pm as I was leaving a restaurant where I meet my friend Lucy for lunch. It just drizzled until I pulled into the carport and then it came down. It just drizzled on an off for the rest of the day in my area.

But heavy flooding took place northwest of me and actually pushed 40 railroad cars off the railway. What a mess they have to clean up now. At first they didn't know if any of the cars had hazardous materials on them but later found none.

Then of course you get the dummy's who insist on driving into the washes and have to be rescued. One lady thought she was entering the Freeway but missed the turn because it was raining so hard she couldn't see. Now how many of you would continue to drive if you can't even see where your going. I surely would pull over and wait. They do announcements on TV all the time about this but no people will still not follow this direction.

I have made some progress in healing but this sure was a bad hit of the Calcium decease and it has been tough but at least the pain has subsided pretty much. So it was nice to get out and have lunch with my friend.

Good Night All

  2. Glad you are finally feeling better.
We witnessed what just Heavy Rain can do in the southwest two years ago and you are right people are taking their lives into their own hands when driving in those storms. Then add the run-off from the mountains and it is a recipe for disaster. (Can't Fix Stupid)
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  3. I don't think I have ever anxiously awaited the monsoon season as much as I have this year. Probably because of sooooo much heat proceeding it. We haven't had that much in rainfall here but just the dropping of the daily temperatures is a blessing. I hope it does drag into Sept. Glad you are starting to feel better. My oncologist wanted me to take calcium but I eventually hurt all over so had to stop.

    1. Hi Emily,

Yes between the heat and the drought we all have been praying for this monsoon season. But of course when it come so fast and so hard it is dangerous. Calcium can be a bad if you have to much.

  6. So sorry to hear that you are in pain, Jo. I know that story all too well. When I read your title, I couldn't wait for what was coming! LOL Rain--we've had a lot of it in Atlanta, but it's made for a pretty spring. I saw the train wreck on the news last night. I was glad to hear no one was hurt, but what a mess to clean up! Love to Fred.

  7. Hi Nancy,

I'm on the mend but it was a terrible bout this time and to still be having some problems it tells me the calcium level must have been super high. Went for labs yesterday and a follow up next week. That train wreck was something and they say the tracks are fixed but the clean up will take some time. I bet my daughter will be really busy as she works at there lost package division.
