Triple Digits Again

I only spent 2 mornings out on the porch before the humidity really climbed and then the temps climbed back up to.

I spent last  Wed., with my grandson Anthony, to talk over life's nasty curves and what one has to do to get around those curves. We had a nice visit and I also took him to a job service that offers lots of training for different kinds of jobs, some have paid training. The interviews are starting to come in so we are just hoping one will be calling soon.

Thursday, I finally went for a hair cut that was about a month over due. I went back to the place that gives really bad hair cuts so I won't complain about it.

Friday, I finally forced myself to go grocery shopping. Did I ever mention how much I hate shopping. UGH. So hopefully I won't have to go back for at least 2 weeks.

After putting away all the groceries I went and cleaned up the yard and watered the last plant standing today it already looked sad. I'll give it more water tomorrow but I think it is also going to give up the ghost.

Saturday I stripped the bed and did some laundry and put up a pot of veggie soup.

Today instead of going to breakfast we did lunch at Chili's as they are doing a 3 item deal for $10. I had iced tea, fries ,a burger without the bun and a chef salad. My daughter had a salad, chicken chipotle strips  and a loaded potato and they also brought her fries. We ordered a fried pickle side. Tracy went home with lots of left overs.

It was a great weekend.

Good Night All

  1. The humidity is terrible here as well but at least we are only in the high 90's.

I hate grocery shopping too but I may have to break down and go to HEB as I can not make my monthly grocery run to Mexico.

Best of luck to your grandson, here is hoping he lands a job soon!

    1. Hi MsBelinda,

The humidity makes it so hard to breath even when it was in the low 90's last week. Oh well everyone keeps saying it's almost fall haha.

My grandson has a side job today with a painting company he used to work for he is really excited to pick up the few dollars he will make to give him bus money, so he can keep looking. The painting job is just to iffy when it comes to having enough jobs. But thank you for the good luck wishes

    1. Yes it was nice to have a couple of cool days but that is over now for the next week so far.

I don't like shopping in large stores always to many people. I like little antique shops place like that I don't buy anything just like to look and love outdoor places but not much of that happens in this heat

  3. Sounds like you've been very productive with a lot accomplished...I have to say all I did this week was spin my wheels, but I think some traction is about to catch! Here it is rain, rain, rain, and gloom in between! Kind of a downer, by the end of this week we should see a small change! I go through the grocery store so fast that I come home with nothing to eat!

    1. Took advantage of the cooler weather cause it's back into triple digits again and the rain is taking a break. But now I have lots of cooking to do to use up all the veggies but that's OK once it's done I have ready made meals. Hope your traction takes hold for you

    1. Hi Rick and Kathy,

It was nice to be able to get out a bit without melting.

  5. We've actually had a pretty good summer weather wise until the smoke moved in this last week. Now it's miserable cause you can't even seen across the lake. Not good for people like Jim with breathing issues. I got my hair cut and she just about scalped me. Oh well. It does eventually grow back. I actually enjoy grocery shopping. Not anything other kind of shopping but there's something about going into a store with lots of beautiful food that I love.

    1. Hi Sandie,

I have been reading about all that awful smoke it sure has been a bad year for fires and how people are praying for rain already. I guess they say Sept. is the rainy season in CA. but my cousin said they didn't even have any last year where she lives. I know better than to go to that salon as the same 2 ladies are always there and they give the worst hair cuts but it's so close so since I'm so lazy I go there so like you said it does grow back and then we don't have to back again for a long time lol. I wish we had a Sprouts close by that I wouldn't mind shopping at.

  6. I'm not doing much shopping of any kind for a while, and just living off the food I have on hand. A puppy sure can curtail your life!

  7. Trying to eat healthy is quite an expense I can't tell you and I was at the point of not having anything in the house left. Yes I imagine that little guy is keeping you very busy

  8. I din’t Know how you stand the heat. I haven’t hlbeennonbthe computer in recent days—I’m trying the pool at a nearby church, and I’m in a world of hurt as I’m not used to exercising. Plus the back and forth between my daughter’s house and mine to take care of the pup is taking its toll.

  9. Hi Nancy,

Sorry to hear your not doing well. I remember when you were doing the pool before it was helping, maybe if you take it slow at the pool until you work through it for a while and get stronger.

  10. Only getting to high 70s today here near Hershey. Nice! But expect to be mid 90's as we take off on Tuesday to head home. DANG! I well understand your hatred of shopping. I will join that club.

We have been having lower than expected temperatures but the humidity is nasty. Safe travels home. The hate shopping club is growing LOL
