Things Are Good

Happy to say, all is well. Blood sugar is back to normal and so is my blood pressure. So we are pretty sure all this came from the flu shot.

My camping trip has been canceled once again. When I tried out the inverter for the battery it didn't work anymore that's what I get for buying cheap. My problem is what size should I buy. I know some of my readers may have an answer for me. It is a deep cycle battery and the guy put 2 of those lighter type plug ins on top so what I need is something to plug into that so I can use my a/c plugs for the small heater, and laptop. The guy at the shop said the heater wouldn't pull much at all and I can hook up the solar panel to drip  charge since it isn't much of a panel. So if anyone knows what size I should buy I would appreciate the input.

We had some crazy winds this week and really cold temps so there wasn't any getting out of the house until today. I had to go get my blood pressure checked since I couldn't find a working machine anywhere and then off I went to walk around Bed, Bath and Beyond since I needed a square pan to replace the one that cracked. Walked all around the store a couple times just to get the exercise. It felt good to be moving. Going to get out tomorrow and do more walking around. And check to see when Planet Fitness will be opening.

Good Night All

  1. Glad all is getting netter there for you now.
Not sure about running an electric heater from your inverter and a battery, I think you would need a few batteries and large solar panels.

  2. Hi George,

Its one of those tiny heater and it won't draw much at all. It's called a personal heater and I would only run it in the early morning. maybe if I call and RV repair shop they could help me.

  3. I need to get another inverter and this next one will be bigger that the one I had before. Not going to use it for heat, but only for lights in case of a storm, ya know?

    1. Hi Jim,
Are you using a deep cycle battery Jim?

  4. Heaters draw enormous amounts of energy from your Batteries. If your Heater draws 1500 Watts you will need at least a 2,000 Watt Inverter so you are not tripping the Breaker. If you are running Two Batteries that each have a 100 Amp hours capacity you need Two Hundred Watts of Solar Panels.
Question: Are your Batteries Deep Cycle or AGM and where do you have them mounted in the camper. Deep Cycle Batteries produce Hydrogen Gas when charging and is Poisonous as well as Explosive so it has to be vented to the atmosphere. AGMs cost more but give off no gases and could be stored under the bed,

    It's about time.

  5. Hi Jim and Kathy,

this little heater is only 700 watts. This only only my camper shell that I have for camping so no breaker is needed. It is a deep cycle battery and is vented it is mounted next to the window and door and is in a case which is vented. But you answer gives me an idea of what I need. Nothing runs off this battery but what I connect to it. In the past I used my little travel coffee maker and charged my laptop which was different form this one and I had the lighter cord for it of course it didn't fit this laptop so I will need to be able to hook into the ports on the battery. Thanks for the information.

  8. You def need an inverter that will handle the 700 watts...I found t his site may help you figure it out. Glad you're feeling better! ITS cold here now. Too cold to camp without heat. I also need a larger inverter the last few times I needed it, it kept flipping off.
    Have a great weekend!

  9. Hi Sondra,

Thanks for the link. It's to cold here without a heater in the mornings to. This little personal heater just might do the job, only need it in the morning to take the chill out. I liked your YouTube.
