Back To The Clean Out

I had a great Mother's Day. Went out to lunch as usual with my youngest daughter and we exchanged bouquets. Then my grandson treated us to Cold Stone. After we finished our ice cream we headed over to Bed, Bath and Beyond and I finally bought a new frying pan. I had some great coupons so it wasn't to bad of a price. We walked around the store and we spotted an excises bike of course I had to try it out. We had a great laugh as my legs are to short to get on and off. But I keep thinking about it. With a foot stool I should be able to manage.

After we said our good byes I headed home to wait for my other daughter which wasn't to long. She gave me this neat heated lunch box that I can take camping. It is only 40 watts and I can use it with my deep cycle battery. We had a nice visit.

We had rain on an off most of the day but it was so nice and cool.

I have started to research solar for the camper and will start with a 100 watts. If I find property at the White Mountains I can always add to it so I can stay as long as I want.

This little lunch box is so cool. From my oldest daughter.

Today I filled 2 leaf bags with clothes to give to donation. Most of these clothes were from when I worked. Now what was I saving these for, surly not going to get another job and they are so old already, it's been 12 yrs. Also got rid of belts and scarves and all the plastic hangers that the clothes were on. It felt so good to get this done. Tomorrow  I will bring in a couple of boxes to pack up some of my pottery, yes my beloved pottery. There is just to much stuff and I am tired of cleaning it. As soon as I get that done I can call and get on the pick up list. The lady said they are in this area every Friday. So tomorrow I better get on it or I will have to wait another week and I want this stuff gone.

Good Night All

  1. What a nice Mother's day you had and the heated lunch box looks interesting. We had 130 watt panel for 12 years and did the trick just added another 100 watt panel 2 years ago with 2 -6 volt trojan batteries.

  2. Down-sizing is always a good thing. I reckon things like the pottery gather a lot of dust, right?

  3. Looks like you had a Wonderful Mothers Day with your family.
That is quite the little Lunch Box Heater.
Purging is a hard thing to do but makes you feel good after it's done and someone else benefits as well.
Adding Solar to a Cabin will definitely make it easier to stay "Off the Grid" for longer periods but choosing the Panels, Batteries and Inverter need a little research.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  4. Hi George,

Thank you for your tip George, I have a 45 watt someone gave to me I have never used it since I know it wouldn't do much at all. But maybe I can add it the bigger panel.

    Hi Jim my Friend,

Yes down sizing is a good thing. It this stuff does collect dust. As much as I love it it has to go.

    Hi Rick and Kathy,
Yes I had a wonderful Mother's Day. I need to try out that lunch box soon.
I tell you the clothes were easy to get rid of but getting rid of my pottery is going to be hard I love all of it. I have some really nice pieces but if I want to move on with my life it must be done.
I watch this guy on YouTube and he explained all the parts for the solar. He made it so easy and he also added it to the bottom of introductory so I was able to write it all down. Since he has a pretty big cabin he has a lot more than I will need to get started. Just hope I can make this happen

  5. Sounds like you had a great Mother's Day. What an interesting little lunch box I had never heard of something like that, pretty color too.

I need to get rid of so many clothes like yourself I am not ever going to go back to work. However, we only have one donation place and a lot of stuff per our now deceased mechanic ends up in their dumpster.

Will have to take my donations to Houston where they will come to your home to pick it up. Congratulations on letting go of your prized pottery.

    1. I really did have a great mother's day. I want to try out the lunch box maybe tomorrow. I was pretty busy today.
We used to have a donation box right around the corner but I think the property owners got tired of the mess people made by dumping all kinds of mattresses and couches there in the rain when the place was closed.

  6. What a great Mother's Day! I have gotten rid of all my work clothes, shoes, long dresses, etc. Now I have jeans, shirts & things like that. I kept one long fairly dressy dress but will probably never have a chance to wear it again, and if I do I won't have proper shoes to go with it!

    1. Hi Gypsy,
I didn't even keep anything dressy since I don't go to anything like that anymore either. And since I can't wear nice shoes anyway what would be the point.

  7. It does feel good to get rid of unnecessary things...I did that to this place before I moved in, I sold all the excess things on ebay over the almost 3 yrs it took me to get it livable again during the make over 2012-2015. As for clothes, I don't buy new anymore. I am into shabby not even chic..lol.
I hope you get your spot in the White Mtns.

  8. Hi Sondra,
It will be hard to decide what to let go of and I really should try and sell some of this stuff because I paid a lot of money for most of it. But on ebay you have to ship the stuff out and these pieces are heavy. Like you I am a shabby but not chic also LOL It's all about comfort. I try to have at least a couple descent tops for out Sunday outings but I sure do need a couple pair of capri's

  9. For a single person, I recommend a 6" square electric fry pan from Home Depot for $16. Great for a hamburger, one slice of French toast, 2 eggs. etc. Easy to clean and store, and comes with lid. It has an adjustable thermostat.

  10. UM I really don't need one but thanks. The heated lunch box was a gift she thought I could use it for camping since it has very low wattage and can be plugged into my inverter.
