More Changes?

I realized it has been a long time since I posted. So I hit new post and more changes. This is getting very annoying and no wonder people are shutting down their blogs.

Things have settled in for Debbie. Most needed things have been replace by some very good and generous friends and family.

The weather still is rotten and hot. Temps are still at 102 while nights have cooled down quite a bit and makes for less A/C usage. Made the bill a lot lower but still to high.

Repairs on the house are completed for this round anyway. I need to do some inside painting and I'm going to try doing it on my own. It may take awhile but if I can do a wall a day in the smaller rooms that will be great. My grandson is still working nights and home schooling his kids. He isn't getting much sleep. And I'm not going to bother him with more work. He did a great job painting the repair and we sure got lucky matching the paint.

I am itching to get out and go camping but with such high daytime temps that isn't going to happen. I thought of renting a cabin but they don't allow pets so that's out. I'm trying to be patient but that is wearing pretty thin already. It has been over a year already since I have been camping. And since this dang Covid19 I really haven't gone out very often at all. Still having groceries delivered. Did a quick run with Debbie to the Family Dollar to get her some odds and ends. The store was pretty empty so that worked out really well.

So really don't have much to share on this post.

Hope you all are taking care and wearing your maskes in public and enjoying some Fall weather.

Good Night All

  1. So glad to hear Debbie has received so much help and it's settling down for her. As if we didn't have enough ups and downs in our lives.

Am getting ready to spend a couple of nights out at Elephant Butte Lake in a week, as a shake down and trial run for my truck camping. Am only going to be a few miles from home, but it will be different scenery. Plan on take a bunch of pictures. Am getting 3 teeth pulled tomorrow so didn't want to venture too far from home this week. May try again in a couple of weeks when it could be chiller.

Have fun painting. Hope the wall a day works for you, never has for me when I say I'll do "XXX amount" so much each day.

  2. Glad things are coming together for Debbie.
The temperatures should start to drop by the end of the month for camping.
By the time you move things around and prep each wall you might consider Two days per wall.
Be Safe and Enjoy the cooler temps.

    It's about time.

  4. Hi Emily,

Can't wait to hear how you camping trip went for you next week. Are you day time temps lower now? Hope you take pictures when you go. I will only be going a little ways from home myself when I finally get to just to bad that now it gets dark so early. Did you sell you Casita?

Hope all goes well with the dentist.

    Hi Phyllis,

Yes your temps sound fantastic to me!

  5. I am so glad Debbie is almost back to normal and that she has had so many family and friends to help her out.

I am sorry to hear that your temperatures are so high but hopefully they will go down soon.

Yesterday I timed how long it took for Blogger to list my post on my reading list and in other bloggers sidebar and it was an hour. I suppose they are getting better because last week it took three.

  6. Its good weather here at the moment, I am getting itchy feet myself, like you I deferred some chores till cooler weather so I just got paint to repaint the deck outside...And some other painting projects. I had the first fire of the season in the fireplace last night...just for an hour it took the chill out of the room. Don't fret there is plenty of cooler weather on the way. Good that Debbie is getting re settled...must be very hard tho...I would hate to be starting over again.

  7. Hi MsBelinda,

Yes she is pretty well done replacing things. Every time she thought she had it more things seemed to be needed.

I sure would love to have cooler temps. I seem to have turned into a winter weather girl these past few years.

These constant changes are a real pain in the neck but FB is worse.

    Hi Sondra,

At least your having better weather. Yes you haven't taken a trip in quite sometime so you are also due for a good get away. Cooler weather makes outdoor chores much easier. Having you first fire sounds wonderful just to take the chill out. Yes starting over is tough. She seems to be doing OK but she doesn't say much about how she really feels. She is keeping busy with her full time job and her side job of door dash.

  8. Glad to hear about Debbie. I hope painting goes well for you... that's a job I don't like! I enjoy reading blogs but Blogger has made it a challenge for people to post. Lately, every time I tried to post I got wierd errors saying I could lose all my content. Or, pictures on prior posts would suddenly go wonky and be too big for the page. Google would send an email saying to fix them but nothing I did worked (probably because it was on their end, not mine). It got so I didn't trust my stuff to be there the next time I logged in. I enjoy writing so I moved my blog.

  9. Sounds like things are going well for you. I'm just catching up and am glad things are going better for Debbie.

102? Wow! I imagine nights are definitely a lot cooler. That makes for good sleeping too. I hope you can get out for a trip! Take care! -- VT

  10. Hi Connie,

Yes this new blogger is a royal pain. Sorry to hear about all the trouble your having posting your pictures as so far the ones I have seen are really beautiful. Will you blog still be by the same name and can I get to it?

    Hi Brad,

We are in a cooling trend if you can call 99 a cooking trend. But yes the nights are great now and no A/C running constantly. I'm hoping to get out soon too but it's still to hot during the day.

  11. Jo, My blog is the same name. If you use the Reader or some sort of a Feed list you may have to re-enter the domain name (not sure but it's something to check). I just published a new post yesterday.
